  • Same Story – different day

So we’ve all been sick, sick, sick here. It went through the house like a wildfire. Ducky I think had it worst, she missed a week+ of school and eventually was diagnosed with severe bronchitis. They even x-rayed her to make sure she didn’t have pneumonia. Wooot. The fun just never stops. Hubby missed 3 days of work, Ladybug missed 2 days of school and ended up on antibiotics for an ear infection. I missed 2 days of work, and should have missed more as I went back too soon, and was feeling like crap all over again yesterday. Coralora (adopted daughter) called in sick to work one day, but went to school everyday and probably made the best recovery of us all! I’m home today chilling with my ‘puter.

I’ve got to go open in awhile, but that is it for my activities today. Well, let me amend that. That’s it for activitites that involve movement for today.

Drama, Drama, Drama at work. I hate Drama. I AM not a good drama person. I’m one of those people who makes friends with just about everyone at work, is happy and pleasant 99% of the time and can be relied on to be at work at the designated hour, do the designated work and typically, have some fun somewhere in that time. I’ve never been a drama person. Hence the reason most of my friends growing and even in adulthood, have been male. The few “girl” friends I’ve gotten close to are typically like me. No drama prone people. Chill people — who just want to have a good time, no soap operas please.

I’ve realized that working in a beauty salon is NOT the place to avoid drama.

Not that I don’t LOVE my stylist friends, but let’s face it, most of them I wouldn’t just “hang out” with you know. Too much work for me. I can’t maintain that high level of emotion. I just want to be chill. I can’t get all worked up over every little perceived slight, or because so and so moved her station over there just to bug you, or so and so took that ticket when it was mine, or so and so did this and that and yadda, yadda yadda. Nope. Can’t do it.

I wonder sometimes what I seem like to them. I probably seem like the most boring person in the world. Never any drama in my life. I just keep plodding along, doing my thing. Of course I have drama — heck I have 3 teenage daughters at home, of course there’s drama. But it’s never a huge thing, it just something that comes, we deal, it goes and voila – we are drama free again, and that’s just the way I like it! So in the coming months, I may appear a little more stressed than usual. With 2 daughters graduating and getting ready to go off to college and one getting ready for confirmtion, the host of people, visits and things to do that accompany these events may put us in Soap Opera land. I won’t be stressed because all the things to take care of, but from dealing with the drama that will assuredly come along with everything else!

    Aghhhhhh………. save me from drama!

    Question of the day?

Drama Queen or hold the drama please?

  • :not-talking:  Hold the drama, please!  Teens come automatically with some, but,  uck… hate it!  Don’t like it at work, either.  Fortunately, we’re like an extended family here, so there are some squabbles, for sure, but we keep drama to a minimum.  Our guests give us enough drama to keep everyone who works here amused.

Hope everyone starts feeling better soon!

  • Hold the Drama Please…there are so many other things to spend my energy on that are more pleasant.

  • I hate drama so much. It’s so not worth being involved in. I stay as far away from it as I can.

  • Sorry to hear about the drama, especially about you all being unwell.

I am not very good with drama @ all!

We are only just really doing the teen thing now as eldest is 15. He is pretty placid though.

Miss 12 coming through tho’ sparks my curiosity as to whether we are going to get a good dose of teen girl.

    Thanks for coming by today.

Where did you move from and too?

  • definitely hold the drama. although there are a million drama queens surrounding me at work. i think they just need attention. wish people would just go into work and do their jobs and talk in the break room instead of on the floor where it doesnt’ belong but i’m not the boss and the boss doesn’t seem to care.
sorry your family has been sick. mine has been lucky with not having any illness this year. just melancholi occationally.

  • I wondered how many of the comments would say “hold the drama”  :ROTFL:  I mean who admits to being a drama queen! I feel like you, my life is pretty boring and drama free, only time there’s drama here is when it visits from 1200 miles away.

  • HATE it!  That’s one of the things that bugged me about working in an office; plenty of drama queens there, too.

I have heard so many people getting whatever-it-is and having all kinds of complications this year – hope everyone’s feeling better!

  • I will type again when I stop laughing at this post.  I just told Mr. T yesterday how glad I am that I don’t work around women.  You typed my thoughts so that I don’t have to.   So sorry that you are sick.  Youngest Kid had to go to the doctor again and paid big bucks for her medication.  I am sure that she and Ducky had the same thing.  She is doing much better now but she still feels wiped out.  Don’t worry about the table/chairs, it is not bunco night yet :)

  • I am the Queen of Drama Queens. You should all take turns fetching me a Diet Coke.

    No seriously, I’m parched…

  • Wow, sorry to hear about all the sickness going around your family. Hopefully this finds you all on the mend!

I hate drama, but unfortunately there is no way to stay away from it. As long as there are more than 3 people in one room, there will be some sh** going on. And not all of it is from women. I know just as many Drama Kings :)

  • Did Widow at 40 diappear on us again?  Do you know what’s happening with her?

  • @dtrask - she said she was eliminating her multiple internet sites and just sticking with facebook, you can find her there if you want!
