  • Grumpy and grumpier…

I’m OFF! Woot. Happy Labor day to all.

This morning we went and watched Hancock – at the dollar theater. Since it was Monday and we had a family of more than three we got in for 50 cents each. With popcorn, sodas and candy we spent $21.00. Not bad. Hancock was good, and I totally didn’t see the twist coming. I knew she knew him, but couldn’t figure out how. I won’t spoil it, but we did enjoy it.

Afterwards we went to Wallyworld to get some things we needed. I’ve noticed the last few days that people seem to be in a bad mood. On Friday I ran into of bunch of grumpy customers. Same for Saturday except even more so and throw in some rudeness. Sunday  was even worse – with grumpy customers, bickering stylists and just general grumpiness. Today I’m afraid I was one of the grumpy ones.

Although I managed to not take it on anyone. I could feel it bubbling up though — so I’m glad I’m home safely ensconced in front of the tube getting some much needed rest and relaxation.

I hate being grumpy. I get grumpy when I’m grumpy. It’s a vicious circle.

I’m looking forward to going to the lake. I think it’s just what I need to combat the latest case of grumpies. We are renting a pontoon boat. We are going to spend the day at the lake, maybe stop by the mineral springs and soak and relax. Just generally enjoy the week end. I hope the water isn’t too cold – it’s been cooling off quite a bit. Hopefully we can still make use of the slide. My mom and dad and niece and nephew are meeting us there. I think it will be lots of fun. I haven’t been on a lake in some time. Maybe my grumpy will be under control by then… let’s hope!

    Question of the day:

What do you do to combat the grumpies?

  • Listen to my Dane Cook CD and it always makes me laugh

  • Eat chocolate and go shopping…..both things make me happy!

  • I have been grumpy lately? I dont know why yet…. :not-talking:

  • New Mexican’s get grumpy when we have more than 4 hours of clouds.  It seems as if we spent the entire weekend in a cloud globe instead of a snow globe and even if we needed the rain, we like our sunshine.  I actually enjoyed the cloudy days but it was nice to see the sun out once in awhile.  A few of my pictures are posted on Flickr but I need to edit a few more and convert them in to jpeg files.  I will find out tomorrow how I did during the state fair judging.

  • When I feel grumpy, I just google Bushisms. :wink-wink:

  • Wow, that looks like a nice boat, I didn’t know you could rent boats?  I’ll have to check into that, take lots of pic’s to share.

I shop to combat the grumpies but then I end up in Wal-mart and there are 62 cash registers and only 3 cashiers working…..:hmmmmm: like you said, it’s a vicious cycle…..

  • I have to go off somewhere by myself!  It’s much better for everyone that way, believe me!

  • i gotta get myself away from grumpy people first of all–they only make it worse. anytime i can hang out with my mary kay galpals, things get better. (we have a 5 minute limit on pity parties!) sometimes, i just need to be by myself & veg, though…

  • I go soak in the tub with a good book. Your boat looks so cool and lot’s of fun.

  • Chocolate… and a nap or a break by myself. Which my family welcomes… no one wants to be around me when I’m grumpy anyway.

People are just so bogged down these days. It’s evident everywhere. Maybe relief will come soon!

  • When I’m grumpy, I watch a funny show or movie. I always feel better after.

  • If it’s not too bad, a bubble bath and some dark chocolate help me! :wink-wink: But if it’s major grumpys, then I ususally have to hole up in my room for a while and avoid everyone until it passes. Luckily, that doesn’t happen too often!

  • I agree, I feel there has been an awful case of the grumpies going around…

I usually stay in my room and watch the tube. OR I find something that really annoys JB and tease him until I make him cry. I never did that until recently, but I find it quite therapeutic.

  • What fun!!! Sorry about your grumpy ‘tude. I usually feed my grumpy ‘tude chocolate. Liquid form, like a mocha, and a mini Hershey bar to go with it… AWAY from my family.

  • I hope you had a great day at the lake!
