What normal is
Its days filled with laughter,
And no time for rage.
Its cats licking my face,
And a dog that wants to play.
Its movies, and xanga,
And kids who won’t stay.
Chatting with mom
On the phone through it all
Laughing and joking
And endless trips to the mall
It’s worrying about those
who aren’t safe at home
And texting them
On their cell phones
Its music and reading
And exchanges of wit
Throw in some sarcasm
Just a bit
It’s choosing to walk
a slightly different path,
And points for fun words
Like psychopath.
It’s trying and trying
To keep the house clean
And snapping pics
Of a favorite scene
It’s moving all the time
It’s NOT staying put
Hopefully soon though
The shoe will be on the other foot.
It’s being called weird
But with a smile of pride
It’s acceptance of others
And still being a bride.
It’s life to the fullest,
And taking big risks,
It is family and friends
And it’s sealed with a kiss.

i’m definitely not normal but i feel normal sometimes.
Cute take on this topic!
“Normal”? Most of the time! : )
Nice poetry. Nice pics. Novel way to define your take on normal.
You offer poetic and pictorial proof that normal doesn’t have to be a boring routine, as so many have claimed. Jolly good show! :wink-wink:
Normal? Moi? hmmmmmm
Nice post

Thanks for your comments today.

RYC: Oh I don’t really have to do anything when it comes to the lizards. My son takes care of all the pets. His pets, his home
After round 2 of the wii fit, I am still alive and laughing at the funny way they get me to exercise. I am enjoying the time spent on the board. Your blog was wonderful and I loved seeing the pictures. You were/still are a beautiful bride.
RYC: Thanks. When I referred to clowning with outrageous antics, I was thinking of the young ladies in your pics.
Oh I LOVE this! It seems to sum you up so nicely and the pictures are fabulous. I love that you let your girls get out there on those limbs and not worry about things that some folks get caught up in, while the BIG picture gets lost. I think your NORMAL is WONDERFUL!
I enjoyed this quirky look at your life.
My answer of the day: My height and weight are nearly normal. Uhhh… I guess that’s all.
Im about as normal as your average insane person.
The girls are talking over my shoulder asking me when we are coming to visit you again.
And because they can read they are reading what I am typing and are getting irritated…
Summer school is for fun in nebraska. the kiddos didn’t flunk kindergarten or anything.
FYI: Meghan is very irritated that I am writing about her in your blog. She has firmly stated that I should be using the “backspace” button right now.
Hi…I just came by from Around Joy’s site. Just wondering if you live in Maui. I see that is your metro.
I love these pictures! Are you the fabulous picture taker in your family? Our cats do look alike! That shaving cream pic is very cool.
OK, all kidding aside, this is one very special post…I really really love it. You are so clever and have a wonderful family.
xoxo, B

@flatpick46 - Thank you! And you’re welcome. The waterfall is from Waimea canyon on Kauai — loved that place!
@LIF1955 - Thank you! I try to let them develop there own individuality — while trying to keep them based in reality. It makes for a fun place to live! I think my normal is wonderful too!
@dtrask - Yes, I am indeed the offical photographer of our family — I know, isn’t that shaving cream picture great??? I LOVE it!
@Queenelizzy - :blushes: Thank you so much. Compliments like that from someone like you really do mean a lot. Thanks!
