Stubborn Meets Brick Wall

Today I spent a few minutes going back to my very first entry. I keep these because I occasionally like to return to my beginnings and check out what I was thinking. I used to start off each entry with a quote, saying or internet bumper sticker. I liked that. I don’t know why I stopped, but I thought I might start again, just because!
I talked to the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing the other day. My application was returned saying I needed to do a few things that were a) already done, b) included in the packet or c) completely irrelevant to my application. I was very frustrated and depressed about the whole situation and after some tears and gnashing of teeth I decided to call them and try to work it out rather than giving up. I’m not really a “give up” type of person, which explains why at 40, with 2 children I finally got my Masters. Anywho….. I talked to a wonderfully nice lady (which is always a pleasant surprise) who, like me, was completely stumped about why my application had been sent back as everything that was required was completed and included. So, I sent it back yesterday, straight to my newest friend at the CCTC — and hopefully have good news soon.
The sub jobs, not so much success. Being trying to find out the status, but hah! APS (Albuquerque Public Schools) is a true bureaucracy with all that implies.
But, I have to keep plugging away. Teaching is truly my calling. I didn’t’ discover it until late in life (relatively) and I absolutely love it. And I’m good at it <buffs nails on shirt>. So, I’ll keep beating my head on that brick wall. Hey, my head is pretty hard, just ask my family. I feel confident that I will break through eventually!
Alright, off to do some more of my favorite pastime – cleaning — oh I just love to clean (NOT).

I’m pretty flexible, but persistent. There’s a big difference. You don’t strike me as stubborn, either: just know when you’re right, know what you want, and willing to go after it.

Me stubborn??? Never…yes, yes I am, I come from two stubborn parents which makes me twice as bad….
I can be stubborn, for sure. I think I’ve grown out of some of it though. I never used to see the need in getting along as much as I do now that I’m older and (hopefully) wiser.
I hope you’ve found your guardian angel in CA and you can get the paperwork mess solved. It’s got to be terribly frustrating.

You should be chasing your dream and not a “job”. You would be an awesome writer, you have that gift, quit moping around, get busy and join a writers guild, pick up some books on writing, grab your ideas and a laptop, find someplace secluded and start doing what you REALLY want to do!
I will not stop pushing you until you do it.
