Family Fun
So we have been working our tushies off here – OK, well my tushie is unfortunately entirely intact, but you get the idea. So yesterday we pushed the EASY button. Hubby spent the day golfing. Squirt and I took up residence on the couch for some serious couch potato sessions. Ducky took advantage of this hiatus in work to perform her teenage duties and sleep until 2:30.
That evening hubby and I were talking on the couch – he is definitely feeling the stress. He offically retires 1 September and has no job. Neither do I in fact. This is quite troublesome, but I am not worried. Why? Because I’m sure I could have a job by the end of the week, it just wouldn’t neccessarily be what I wanted. It would however, pay the bills and I would take that. Hubby has job prospects, good ones that he is interested in, but they are not open until November and later. As we were talking Ducky came downstairs – she’s having problems with the long term relationship her and Duckman have. I’m sure her end will get better once school starts, but it’s tough. She feels alone and abandoned. Can’t say I blame her. 16 is a super crappy time to have to move across the country.
We decided we need some family time and spent several hours playing Fluxx — which has become one of our favorite games. Another addition to favorite games is In a Pickle – another word association game, similar to Apples to Apples but even more amusing if possible. We ended our night with a dessert of Dump Cake and we all felt much better after some laughter and fun.
Today we headed off to the movies. We rarely see the same movie anymore, we just all go at the same time. Hubby and I saw Bourne Ultimatium – which like the previous Bourne movies was excellent. The only thing I disliked was the quick camera pans, which makes it hard to focus and see all the action. Ducky saw No Reservations – which she claimed was just what she need a good chick flick. Squirt went for a second viewing of HP5 – and admittedly I would have willing gone for a second view myself, but Bourne (and Matt Damon) were calling to me.
It is so nice to have so many movie choices and such great theaters to attend. The ones on Maui leave a lot to be desired. This one even had an ice cream stand and coffee bar for goodness sakes. Now that’s what I’m talking about!
We are off to church in a few, then tomorrow it’s back to the boxes and the job hunting. Wish us luck.
Question for the day:What’s the last movie you saw or what movie is out that you are dying to see?

Sounds like a wonderful day!
Hugs, Tricia
The last movie I saw was HP; I would like to see the Simpsons movie for a laugh, but I won’t pay movie-theater prices for it!
Right now my daughter’s relationship with her boyfriend is long-distance, at least until school starts again, and I do believe I have noticed some extra moodiness! : )
Good luck with the job situation!
I saw I now pronounce you chuck and larry. VERY FUNNY!
oh and ryc: we had our names on our shirts.
They did that when the older kids were little.
So they wanted to do it again but they were way too small to read!
the last movie i saw was Evan Almighty. i kind of want to see 1408 but it’s scarey and i don’t really like watching scarey movies even though they always interest me. they stay with me longer than i want basically.
good luck with the move. moving sucks. and i have only done it a few times in my life.
Everyone’s talking about that Bourne movie. Sounds like I need to put it on the “to-do” list.
Trish
I am dying to see the HP movie. I haven’t been to the theater to see a movie since my daughter and I went to see Pursuit of Happyness.
:so-cool:i wanna see the simpson’s movie…..been a fan of theirs for years!
hope you have a great week sweetie!!! :wink-wink:
Good luck with the job hunt, always stressful, but has to be…
btw, what’s Fluxx? I haven’t heard of it.
Sounds like a great way to spend the day. Very relaxing. Let’s see we saw a movie while Andrew was gone but what was it. Hmmmm. Let’s think. Oh yeah. License to Wed. I would really like to see Hairspray, Bourne, Chuck and Larry and Superdog.
RYC: If only I could poop out a diamond. hahaha Things are still up in the air but I’m hanging in there!
Movie: Last movie I saw was Premonition…to be quite honest I hated it. I’m dying to see HP movie, Bourne Ultimatum and the Simpson’s movie, maybe I’ll go for a triple feature!!
Would you believe that hubby and I have NEVER been to a movie together? We have seen a couple of IMax things, but never regular movies. I think we are going to take the plunge and see something he wants to see, The Bourne movie. He likes that series and Matt Damon. So for his birthday (next week), I think we will do that.
I actually do not remember the last movie I saw in a theater…I watched I Robot on TV yesterday. And I have had two Netflixs out for months…not good with this movie thing……….and not as if I can much else done, besides reading. Reading, now there is something I AM good with!
Now I am a little strange but went to see Chuck and Larry.
Glad you liked the site. Tell me one day what kind of things you like.
The last movie I saw in the theater was Click with L. I don’t even remember when that was. Ha! That’s the only movie we’ve seen together. Now the last few Tuesdays we’ve been having movie night at his house because he’s borrowing his mom HUGE big screen tv. It actually goes up to his ceiling! Ha! :celebrate:
Sounds like a wonderful day :big-smile:
