Friday Night Fun in the Zoo
Gaelic Storm was awesome! We met about 8 other people there, 3 other couples, a single guy from their work and one of the ladies mom came to enjoy the show. We had so much fun! It was definitely a clap along, dance along, holler along good time. The zoo here is awesome from what I can see. Although I only saw about 15 minutes worth before the show started, it looks amazing. There is also and aquarium and botanical gardens. I think they do summer music shows as well.
It’s the perfect venue, it was nice and shady, with a good breeze blowing. The ampitheater is in a great location, built over a pond filled with koi and ducks. We all had blankets, we shared fried chicken, fresh fruit, and cold drinks and enjoy a lively show. The band was funny and engaging. The music was lively and I was inspired to dance…. ALOT!
I think next Friday we might have to check out the zoo once again….. as it was just lots and lots of fun.
This weekend we went to my folks place. We shot off a whole bunch of fireworks, ate too much and just generally had a good time. What is about men and boys that they feel the need to set things on fire and blow things up? All the guys, young and old had a blast with the fireworks. They are so funny. They reminded me of Adam Savage and Jaime Hyneman from Mythbusters. Actually we tried a mythbusters technique for cooling drinks this weekend and you know what? It WORKED!!! — Cold sodas in 5 minutes or less from hot cans…no problemo! Too bad we didn’t have a fire extinguisher — we could have had them in 2.5 minutes. Darn it!
Question of the Day:
What is your preferred method for cooling beverages?

:dancingcow: You moved? Geez…it HAS been awhile….you in Albuquerque? BEAUTIFUL place…you always get lucky like that, don’tcha? Have an uncle that lives there…SO love to visit him!
Oh good times!!! Glad you had fun at the concert!
RYC: Thanks, I was at another wedding 2 weeks ago where the M.O.H. was not very focused on her duties and I ended up making sure the bride was dressed and ready. I dunno, I just work well under pressure I guess.
Threading, a woman I worked with a year ago mentioned it to me and I inquired about it at the salon I get my grooming done. It’s mostly done by Indian women, they use a cotton thread, similar to sewing thread but a little stronger and the twist it to form like a scissor almost and they grab straight lines of hair and remove it. Like super plucking with out the pain. Here is a video of how they do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NK-QzPLgUTo. I’ve never gone back to waxing, my friend and supervisor gets her whole face done with is (even her bikini). It’s very interesting and very effective. I like it most because you don’t get the added irritation of having wax ripped off of your skin.
glad you had a good time
i hope you enjoy the rest of your week! i’m off to california!
woot!!!
So, all settled and already partying? That’s my kind of girl. I have no clue what Mythbusters are. If we need cold drinks fast we put in freezer for 10 min and then pack them in an iced cooler. So maybe 30 minutes for a cold one???? If we need them right away it’s a glass of ice and the can.
Thanks for stopping by and the comment. I get to work for my 4th of July. I’m mixed on emotions. Later~
Sounds like a lot of fun. I just watched the threading video. Weird. RYC: Andrew is the hairest one of the bunch of us. Ed has no hair at all. I call him my Mexican Hairless. :wink-wink:
I like to put our waters and such in the freezer. Sodas I just leave in the fridge.
:dancingcow: HIYA!
RYC: Actually the dogs is not ours. That dog had been injured and brought to the vets and had to be flown home to Baranof.
Sounds like you had a great time!
I use ice to cool my pop.
Have a nice day. hugs
