  • Working it

So I’ve decided to fly to CA and take a test in order to renew my CA credential. This will be the fastest way to accomplish getting my NM credential, believe it or not. The good news is there are lots of jobs available once I get my credential, the bad news is not many till then. So, I’ve been working on that.

Hubby and I have also been working out every day. We’ve been doing weight work outs in the Nautilus room every other day and Cardio on the days we don’t do weights. I’m really sick of being where I’m at, so I guess I’m finally ready to change it. It feels good, albeit sore to make these changes. Thank goodness for the Jacuzzi here, I don’t want to think about how sore I’d be without it. I think we are going to have to put that on our list of priority purchases when we move into our new place. Right after washer and dryer….

Other than that I’m just enjoying the offerings of a big city again. The stores, the restaurants, even the services. Tomorrow night we are going to a concert in the zoo — no, not elephants, monkeys and Macaws. I guess the Zoo here has regular music at the zoo nights. We are going to see: Gaelic Storm. Here’s the write up from the zoo’s website.

    Gaelic Storm – Celtic

    Gaelic Storm

They’re back for their 3rd concert at the Rio Grande Zoo, where they’re sure to be a crowd favorite again.  This group creates a sound that remains true to traditional Celtic music while adding an original twist of dizzying whirlwind live energy – hence the name “Gaelic Storm.”  Their dynamic stage show features rousing, upbeat vocals, wild energetic dance tunes, haunting ballads and infectious madcap humor.

Sounds pretty cool huh? We love Celtic music, comes from all of our years attending Renaissance Festivals. We are going with friends from Maui — well, we met them while we were stationed there, they relocated back to here about 6 months ago. We actually know quite a few folks here, for just that reason. Kirtland is the main location for the DET in Maui, so people come and go back and forth all the time between here and there. It’s worked out quite nice — it’s great to have friends already in place when you move! Too bad it’s not the ThisIsBullDookie family… sigh.

Not much else is going on – shopping for new shoes for hubby ( he has an interview/ meeting on Tuesday). We will be going down to my mom’s house this weekend. Then next week some friends from CA are stopping by on the way to their new assignment. It will be good to see them too! I love having friends all over the place. Only one drawback…they are all over the place!

Question of the day: (it’s a twofer today)

    Live music or DJ?

Get up and Dance or Sit back and enjoy?

  • I love Celtic music……………..great post……….hugs.:big-smile:

  • Celtic music speaks to me….I’m so envious!!

I love live bands so I guess I choose that.  I also get up and dance.  Like a mad person.  Hahahahaha

  • Is that your teaching credentials that you will renew, or some other kind? Good luck which ever it is!

How cool to have a zoo concert. I bet the Celtic music will be delightful in such a setting and I hope y’all have a wonderful time. I have to say that it depends on the music and my mood as to whether I get up and boogie woogie woogie. I am much more inclined to dance to a DJ and rock to  live music. I really appreciate the talent and work that most musicans put into their performances and I like to pay attention. Some times I could just watch their fingers on a guitar or keyboard for hours in amazement. Mine just don’t move like that!

Hope you have a great day and I’m glad you are getting adjusted to life AM (After Maui)!

  • I know what you mean about being sore after a workout! Thank goodness I have a hot tub at home!

  • RYC:  Heck yeah I dance during the marching band performances!!  LOL  Jeffrey doesn’t mind.  You’ve seen his videos.  He can’t stay still either.  That’s my boy!!!!!!!!!!

  • I’m not familier with Celtic music, but have fun!

I haven’t read all of your blog, so I’m kinda out of the loop, but why did you move back to the mainland from Hawaii?  Are you and your dh in the military?

    Answers:

I love listening to live music.  Rarely can you find a DJ that can keep the crowd on the dance floor.

    Get up and dance, baby!

  • Good luck with renewing your credentials! Working out feels good to me, good luck with that too! Answers to your question…I say get up dance regardless of live music or DJ!! :celebrate:

RYC: I’m so proud of her, and the fact that I try to understand what she’s going through instead of battling her sarcasm/angst, makes us get along famously.

  • Oooh where in Cali?  That is strange that it will help you get the NM creds faster.  Hmmm.  Never would have thought of that.  I like live music and I like to dance.  Ed is more of a sitter.  While Andrew is gone we are going to try and hit a bar or two that has live music.  We might be on to something there.  Yay to you for working out.

  • i like celtic music performances. there’s very few genre’s i don’t like though.

  • Oooh  when?  If I am available I would love to do lunch

  • Sounds like your as busy as ever.  Way to go on the workout :big-smile:

  • Answers to your questions of the day:

I enjoy both live music and a DJ… it would depend on the day as to my preference. And it would also depend on the kind of music as to whether or not I was dancing.

  • RYC:  What day do you do your testing stuff?  Which day would be better.  We can meet at the mall in Roseville.  There are alot of restaurants there.  Angrocamp lives just down the street so maybe she could join us if it was Saturday.  :big-smile:

  • Uh… HELLO!? I saw you’re flying in to Sac!!! When? Let’s get together!! You and me and sunnycaligurl! :) :) :)

  • Oh and I love live music. And I’m more of a get-up-and-dance gal :)
