Friendly folks
I don’t know what it is, but we are evidently very easy to talk to. We’ve made friends with just about everyone we’ve run across today.
A guy walking past outside the Tricare office.
The retired guy manning the Health Benefits Advisor window. He discussed the the in’s and out’s of switching for Tricare Prime Remote to Tricare prime. Even giving us examples of how the system is broken.
Then while working out, we made friends with several folks in the nautilus room.
We made friends with the ladies who groomed Rasha (who looks marvelous, and smells GREAT btw). We discussed the pros and cons of moving from Maui to Albq.
Then we went to dinner. We made friends with the retired couple in the next table, the elderly couple the table behind us, two guys on the other side of the retired couple and a retired teacher who went back to teaching but also works part time at the Cracker Barrel.
While all this is very nice – and would seem to indicate we are friendly people, it does have some drawbacks.
After all, the retired gentleman talked to us the entire time we ate. How do you deal with that? We were hungry, and wanted to eat, but didn’t want to be rude. We were reduced to monosyllabic answers, but you know, I don’t think he really minded!
The retired school teacher kept following me around the store section and giving us advice. Which is fine, helpful even. But don’t you usually wait to be asked before advising folks? I kinda felt stalked, just a little.
It was a weird day. Evidently I have a “please talk to me” sign on my forehead that’s not visible to me, only everyone else in the world.
Wait, let me check my back……….

LOL………..that cartoon is the truth………my son does that…………LOL:flirty:….cool you are making friend……….hugs.
I think you are outgoing and it draws people to you.
I love that cartoon so cute.
I am not realy surprised, about people finding it easy to talk to you and your family. You seem very friendly.
The cartoon was so funny.:ROTFL:
You must have a aura of being friendly and easy to talk to. I know it must be irritating sometimes, but it really is a good thing! :big-smile:
I get that even while I am trying to work sometimes! That is the signal for life stories from total strangers. Although lately I think I’ve had a “come visit me” sign on MY forehead. I need to switch that to “I’ve decided to become a hermit”.
that cartoon reminds me sooooo much of my oldest son!!!!!!!:ROTFL:
Love love love the cartoon. I can tell just from your Xanga that you are a friendly bunch. I would probably get a bit irritated if I was trying to eat. I agree with you, wouldn’t want to be rude but they are being a bit rude by not letting you eat. I guess you just have one of those faces. Are you guys eating out alot with the girls gone? Ed told me last night that we can’t eat out every night that Andrew is gone. Dang. :big-smile:
That sounds like a rare but good day :big-smile:
You must have that sign some where on you! I think I have one that says, tell me your problems! It is a blessing/curse. You are right, you don’t want to be rude, but you have to eat and do your shopping, etc. My hubby is much more inclined to keep talking and I try to edge away politely. You may have to come up with get-away excuse, all purpose and totally believable! Glad you are getting settled, good luck adjusting!
HAHAHAHA!!
Your just an all around friendly person
RYC: That has been one of the biggest problems I’ve been dealing with, hopefully it’s a much better experience than the one I’m currently having. As for Maya, yep she’s my gorgeous rockstart puppy! Thanks :big-smile:
I don’t have tons of time today, but I just wanted to say ‘Hi’ really quick and let you know I miss ya…I should be catching up in the next few days!
Hugs!
lol! I can think of a lot worse things…but in all honesty, you might have just landed in a very friendly area and since you are a friendly person, you will naturally meet a lot of folks. I’m sure it makes you feel good that you have been welcomed, accepted and shown such friendliness. There is a limit though, and I understand why it might feel like a double edged sword.
You just must be very easy to talk to and very patient!
Hehehe. What a lovely sign you’re sporting!
RYC: Thanks for the vote of confidence. I just am telling myself I am preparing for college and empty nest syndrome. LOL. He called this morning and they were already making good time to L.A. They were in Buttonwillow. Oh boy another town like Barstow. I think Barstow is bigger.
I love this cartoon…having a teen ager….
I think your pretty friendly!
