  • New Digs

We have found a house to rent. It’s 4 bedroom / 2.75 baths, big fenced yard with some grass and a 2 car garage. It’s also nice and big – 2,200 sf. It’s in the school area we wanted, within our price range and the landlord is a realtor and will let us out of our lease early if we go through her when we are ready to buy a place. Pretty nice huh?

Bad part is it won’t be available until end of July or 1 Aug. So…. we have to find another place to stay until then. The place we’re at is nice….really nice, but a little to pricey for 5-6 more weeks. I will miss it though. It’s a brand new place, with a bedroom and kitchenette. It also has a great pool and jacuzzi, free hot breakfast, dinner/snack hour 3 nights a week, complimentary laundry room and a fitness room. The new place has a guest laundry (coin operated), continental breakfast, and outdoor pool and a fitness room. No jacuzzi. Sigh. I’m really going to miss that! But, we’ll be saving $40.00 / night, so I guess I’ll have to learn to deal huh?

Squirt left for Silver City with my folks today. It was sure good to see them. But you know what that means? Hubby and I have NO children for 2 – 4 weeks! Woot!!

Wow. It is really quiet in here. I can hear the clicking of the keys as I type.

2-4 weeks might be a loooonnnnnnggggg time.

I’m going to work on my writing topics and challenges for featured_grownups and Kween_of_the _Queens tonight and tomorrow, as they both have new topics up and I haven’t participated in quite awhile! Go check out the other participants while you wait for mine though (I know you’re waiting, probably with bated breath…..)

Until then – guess what? I have MORE pictures! (read in singsong).

     Smiling Squirt

Here’s Squirt – crossing one of the swinging bridges.

    Ducky love

Ducky and Duckman, together as usual!

    Water Rescue

This was actually very interesting. It had been raining in the mountains for the last day or so, as was still raining while we were hiking. These two hiker had crossed this ford when the water was much lower, they were surprised to find the water so high and fast upon their return. Duckman and Squirt originally tried to help them out, but the girl wouldn’t budge. Hubby finally had to get wet and went out and basically carried her in. We had found some rope and they had her tie that around her waist, but she was still not willing to move. Duckman helped the guy, but the girl obviously felt unsure about his abilities, but when sturdy ‘ole hubby stomped out there she let him haul her right in.

St. Theresa's Church, Kihei        Statue of St. Joseph Statue of the Virgin Mary Stained glass  Hibisicus stained glass panel

Here is a few pictures of our church. All the alter furnishings, statues and the crucifix are made of Koa wood. Then the entire church has stained glass panels depicting Hawaiian flowers, islands and history.

    Merry's ride

And finally a picture showing just how comfortable Merry was during the car trip from LA to Albuquerque!

  • Yay for a place, boo for having to wait so long.  Glad you will be able to get settled though.  Great picrures.  Ducky looks so happy.  What a funny cat.  :big-smile:  Andrew will be leaving for his month trip with my dad next Thurs.  June 28th to Aug 1st.  That is going to be a long time and way to quiet around here.

RYC:  OMG those roosters were such a pain in the rear.  I think they were short on brains cause they crowed all the time.  GRRRR.

  • lol the cat looks so comfy like it was not out of the ordinary for it to be riding in a car. i’ve only had a few cats that have had the pleasure to ride in cars and one (my current one) will meow the entire time. the others threw up everytime. you’re must be a strong kitty.

  • First, I am so jealous!  2-4 weeks with NO kids?!?!  I wish my folks were in better health.

Yeah for Hubby the Hero.  Good thing you guys were there.

Pics are cool.  I can’t believe the cat.  That is way too funny.

How are you liking being home?  It must be quite disorienting.  New place, no kids, no house.  Enjoy your little vaca, reality will be back in no time.

  • Darn, now I have to go back. Skooter said he thought about staying, he had a feeling, but didn’t act on it. Oh well, it’s back to the pirate life for me.
