So it begins
Having done this once or twice or 10 times I knew what to expect. Lots of hard work, sweat and stress.
I was not disappointed. Lucky me.
The packers are great – one thing we’ve learned over the years is “take care of the packers, and they’ll take care of your stuff”. We provide a fridge (or cooler, depending on the situation) full of drinks and lunch. They had three guys and the packed the entire house and the garage in two days, leaving both days by 4:00. Believe me that’s GOOD!
We are currently at a little cottage in Makawao. It’s nice in that the animals get to stay with us. Of course Merry is just fine. Where ever we’re at, if she’s there she’s happy. Doesn’t matter: home, car, vet’s office wherever – as long as we are near she’s happy. Never a peep. Rasha has been freakin’ out a little. When we leave her sight she starts yelping, which is a new and unwanted behavior. Overall all she’s doing just fine though. Pippin on the other hand is one unhappy kitty! He has been FREAKIN’ out!! He spent the majority of last night wandering from room to room in the cottage meowing loudly and repeatedly. Then to top it off the stupid rooster started crowing at 3:45 am, the dog joined us in a much smaller bed, and Merry tried to destroy all the windows. So while it was nice to be away from the packing stress, we were unable to get away from the moving stress —
Today we took Squirt to her gymnastics class. Only one problem. Her class is on Tuesday. Today is Wednesday.
Can you tell that we are a little out of it?
Tomorrow they load all the stuff into containers and then we get to begin the real fun – cleaning. And cleaning, and cleaning, and cleaning. Then for a break I think we’ll spend this week end cleaning!

Wednesdays do throw you off huh. LOL. 2 days 2 days 2 days. Eeeeeeek. We are excited. Poor animals. 3:45 That rooster is insane. Does it think it is on California daylight savings? :big-smile: Enjoy your day
wooohoo packing and cleaning it never gets easier does it? I keep telling myself this is our last move till he retires in 2 years.SO one more packing and then we are done! I hate cleaning i think that is the hardest part specially if they are picky at the inspection.Have a good weekend on your breaks.
So glad the packing went well! =)
Hugs!
Ugh, I don’t think I ever want to face a move. Maybe I’ll just leave it all! : )
You have a rooster? Glad the packing went well.
Send Rasha and Pippin out to play with the rooster! :dancingcow:
Congrats to N on his big day! I bought a card for him but I don’t know where to send it. You freaking military people and being homeless and all… :frog:
I think I a bit obsessed with your animal emoticons today.
:birdie:
see?
Deep breaths…….. get some rest…… :sleepy:
Good luck with all the cleaning! When do you actually leave Hawaii? Hubby having any second thoughts about leaving the military? Any new jobs lined up?
Packing and moving are the easy part. Its unpacking and organizing the new space that gives me night sweats! :so-sad::oh-no::hammer: We bought the house in January and still have boxes all over.
Just wanted to stop in. Hope you and yours are well. I put in an entry for this week… kinda a new habit. I’ll be in touch. Take care
How’s it going out there?
I can’t imagine…I moved a lot when I was younger…but my parents did it all, and for the move to Texas I managed to get out of the country to avoid the move completely!
I get stressed out just moving a couple towns over. I hope everything continues going relatively smoothly.
