  • Down Days

OK — I know I promised pictures of Kauai, and I will post them in the next couple of days, honest I will.  Right now however I am enjoying a little down time. With traveling 3 weekends in a row, I have to admit I’m now pretty frazzled.

I have also been going nonstop since getting home, preparing for realtors, taking kids here and there — explaining why I missed jury duty, working on all my stuff for graduation — the works.  Ducky’s boyfriend (who will from now on be known by the nickname Ducky gave him in 8th grade (secretly) and now fits so perfectly) Duckman, has been over at our house pretty much nonstop. We colored his hair on tuesday, returning it to the Mallard green color that earned him his nickname in the first place. He’s been eating dinner over here, and making food too — sopapillas. Yesterday ducky went to his place and hung out there, but don’t think we had a quiet night here cause Squirt’s friend Dollar hung out here and took Duckman’s place at our table —

So, guess what my plans are for the next couple of days??? NOTHING!! A few down days are quite in order! Tomorrow hubby is taking the Yellow sub as his car needs some work, and I plan on staying home and vegging — oh yeah, and doing about 10 loads of laundry (that’s what you get when you travel every weekend –)

Today I went to a real English tea. Matter of fact the proprietor told me I choose the same tea (spiced chai) that Sir Anthony Hopkins choose when he came in!  It was very cool. Tea and scones, finger sandwiches, sweets and sherbet. I went with a friend and one of her friends, and it was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Yesterday I had lunch with two other friends at Cafe O’lei. It was excellent — probably the best Creamy Chicken fettucini I’ve ever had — YUM!

I think I’ll make tomorrow a movie day.

So maybe, I’ll get to those pictures tomorrow too!

    Question for the day…..
    Coffee or tea?

  • Hey take your time, we aren’t going anywhere………LOL…………enjoy yourself……….:camera::sleepy::so-cool::wink-wink:

  • Neither!  An ice-cold Coca-Cola is my drink of choice!

  • If I have to choose, give me unsweet tea with 2 sweeteners.  I prefer Diet Mountian Dew!

  • :big-smile:  Here’s to a weekend of NOTHING :big-smile:

  • sounds like a great realaxing weekend enjoy it! I like coffe in the morning but tea at night is good too. have a great weekend

  • Coffee…coffee…coffee…coffee…coffee………did I say coffee?

Is Eragon good to watch if you haven’t read the book?

  • Tea, please. I prefer Raspberry iced tea and Earl Gray or English Breakfast decaf (with one lump of sugar) if it is hot. I would love to go to an English tea someday. lucky you! Enjoy your much needed day off! emlee

  • A real English tea… how cool, I want to do that someday… I think it would be super cool if Anthony Hopkins was there. I watched two good movies with him last weekend… One was called “Remains of the Day” and the other was a true story about an New Zealander that comes to America to race an Indian Motorcycle. I can’t remember the name, but it was really good. Of course I love, love, love “Meet Joe Black”.

Hugs, Tricia :celebrate: :ROTFL: :celebrate: :ROTFL: :celebrate: :ROTFL: :celebrate: :ROTFL: :celebrate:

  • I sooo wish I could come back to visit again! Hey, where was my tea party when I was there?!! What? Am I all of a sudden not special anymore? :what:
Peter sounds fun. Maybe if I were to molest him he wouldn’t just sit there looking terrified. :hmmmmm:

I have guests coming tomorrow, sunday, and thursday. My house is half the size of yours…
oh please oh please pray for my sanity. :ROTFL: Oh, and just for shits and giggles…Aunt Flow will be here around tuesday.

    :steamed:

  • get your much deserved rest sweetie!!!!!!!!

  • I go back and forth between coffee and hot tea.  Right now it’s tea.  Theres just a cleaner taste to it.

Did you like Eragon?  I’m not a fantasy buff but watched this with my son tonight and I liked it.  That surprised me because I heard the reviews weren’t too kind.

Have a restful weekend-and hopefully get your laundrey caught up.

  • Sometimes “nothing” is the best thing to do.

    Trish

  • Congratulations on finishing school!  You deserve to take a break!

  • Tea, usually iced, unless I am cold.  I like my iced tea with mint and a hint of lemon;  when hot, I tend toward flavors like cranberry apple or raspberry.

How nice that you finally get down time, although spending it doing laundry is less-than-fun, LOL!
