Gadget Envy
I admit it. I have gadget envy. A pretty severe case. I might need some long term treatment, I’m not real sure yet, we’re still evaluating the seriousness of my case.
I love gadgets. All kinds of gadgets – kitchen, household, automotive, electronic and even garage type gadgets, which makes no sense because the garage is like some parallel universe where things ought to make sense, but really don’t.
For the kitchen some of the gadgets I want are KitchenAid Mixer –which does pretty much everything for you, they even have attachments that include a citrus juicer and ice cream maker — that thing is sweet!
And a bread machine which allows even the most culinary challengesd species (uh..that would be me in case your wondering) to make wonderful home made bread and various other dough related items like dinner rolls and other extremely fattening foods. The stainless steel fridge with the drawer freezer and water/ice combo –better yet the fridge like that that has a tv/radio/dvd player in the door (saw it today at Home Depot) and also has an electronic calender/alarm/notepad function. How cool is that?
As far as I’m concerned two MUST have gadgets that I’m getting upon arrival to New Mexico are the Roomba and the Scooba. I don’t want to have to vacuum, sweep or mop every again.
For the car I like CD players that are MP3 compatible, and of course I want a hookup for my iPod. In addition, I want a GPS navigation feature. I probably would never need it, but it’s cool none the less!
For the garage I want those openers that have keyless entry locks along with a dog bath that is step in with a small separate water heater — that just makes good sense!
The electronic gadgets is where I really get excited. There is always new stuff coming out and I love it all! New computers, new video formats, players, recorders, video, audio, cameras — the list goes on and on. My friend bought her husband a iPod alarm clock — yeah….I need that!
If you’re a gadget lover than you have to stop by the Sharper Image each time you pass it, just to see what kind of cool new crap they have to entice you into new gadget obsession. Of course these obsessions lead to a huge collection of gadgets that never work the way they are supposed to. These end up taking up valuable space in drawers and closets that could be better used to store newer, more functional and fun gadgets. Ahhh…. the conundrum of gadgets.
So are a gadget lover too? If so… what gadget do you want?

MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

wtf, gadget envy??????
my gadget envy = chocolate cell phone, blackberry, iPod battery pack, and a monitor that works right.
:ROTFL:
i want the roomba!!!!!
Well, first things first, and the first thing would be to get my laptop (aka my life support) working properly. But then I think I would like a better digital camera. My FIL got a great one for Christmas, and I think I need one just like his. :camera: Oh, and one of those over-the-range microwaves! And let’s not forget the fridge. My tastes are relatively simple, though, and I can skip the tv/dv stuff….although a built in electronic calendar and notepad would be cool! Hey, have you heard about the smart house stuff, where you can control all sorts of things in your house (lights, heat, hot water heater, etc.) from your computer, from ANYWHERE??? Now THAT would be one seriously cool gadget!!! :so-cool:
gadget…gadget…I WANT THEM ALL!!!! I have the iHome…that thing is sweet, it’s an alarm clock iPod player thinger! It’s sweeeet!! When I got my car a year ago, the only addition I didn’t get was the navi system…and yes I do need it, I have no sense of direction but oddly enough when I get lost I end up finding my way, all it instinct I guess…I want the PS3, I want that kitchen aid mixer and to find where the nearest Sharper Image is since I’ve only lived in this area a few months hahaha! ramble ramble blah!!
RYC: Thanks for your comment, maybe one day you’ll see me driving and flipping a car on screen, a dream I’ll never give up! :wink-wink:

Hope you have a blessed Sunday………………make some cookies………lol:celebrate:
I think I suffer the same gadget problem, I want them all! :celebrate:
You know what I want? I want a pressure washer! I want one bad. The neighbors put their home up for sale and had a cleaning company come in to clean, they used a pressure washer on the drive and the sidewalk, I never knew how bad mine looked till theirs looked so good! LOL I’d love to clean the patio around the pool too. I’ll probably end up renting one though as the good ones are very costly. You can rent one for the day for $50.
I have a Tom Tom, (a GPS thing) dh bought it for me for Christmas. I downloaded the voice character “Mickey” a no nonsense British guy, it’s so cool. I use mine all the time, to find a quicker route than the one I’m used to.
That fridge is awsome! Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
I am a kitchen gadet freak. My grandma bought each of us a Kitchenaid stand mixer when we got married a thousand years ago. I have the pasta machine attachment, and it ROCKS! You can stuff and roll ravioli in one step. I’m giddy just thinking about it. I always kind of wanted a roomba, but I think I’d still have to pick up all of the toys and clutter before it could work, and that’s the part of vacuuming I hate. Any suggestions?
If you like gadgets you might enjoy reading about the tractor I just finished writing about.
I have always wanted one of those mixers……….but most cost so very much……..I always asked myself, would I really use it that often, but I know I would……….perhaps now that my son is going into culinary arts I will buy one………….hugs.:dancingcow:
Oh yeah I want one of those Roomba things. I hear they actually work!
Uh.. you forgot totally about the office gadgets!!! Seriously how do you call yourself a gadget lover if you left out fancy shredders, super mega jump drives, electric pencil sharpeners, etc
There are so many wonderful little gadgets… I want a cell phone w/the keyboard for texting… and that refrig….:big-smile:
I want a Wii…and a dishwasher that has 2 drawers that can run independently or together…and an iPhone (even though you’re not supposed to call it that; everyone will). Oh, and a cool TV that hangs on the wall, and…
I am a gadget lover, but can’t afford most of them, I want a robot, that cleans cooks etc… RYC: personally I think it’s a kid who hates showchoir kids, not within the group. Sorry it took me awhile to get here i was :sicky:
 my little Beau (one of my schnauzer puppies) should be named “Roomba” because he’s constantly eating up little things on the carpet and “grazing” all over the house…like a….well…. ROOMBA!!
I love gadgets. too….oh, girl…I LOVE , love KA Stand Mixer!!!! GET ONE!
ROOMBA! I want one of those… I would also like to replace my fridge we got in 1991. The door shelves keep coming apart whenever you open the door and stuff falls out. I hate that fridge… My dishwasher is also broken and it’s only 5 years old-but….it is run once to twice a day working for 9 people…
I have the kitchenaid and bread machine and love both, but don’t consider the kitchenaid a gadget, but instead a necessity. I LOVE that bread machine and make pizza crusts most and freeze them for a quick throw together meal. When it comes to the small gadgets like IPOD and MP3 and handhelds…thats my kids department…
OK, the GPS is not a “gadget”, for me it is a “Why the hell didn’t I get this earlier” type of thing….seriously, I don’t know how in the world I ever got along without it.
While I would like a Kitchenaide some day, I not sure I would actually use it often enough to make it worth the price it costs….but I do love the way it “looks”…LOL
However, the only thing I have been researching and am going to get this year?….an Apple ibook. I gave my kids their own ibooks for Christmas and they love them, no computer snafu’s since they’ve had them, they seem to be easy to learn to use, and the kids swear they will never own anything else….so, an ibook for me!
I saw your picture of the KitchenAid mixer and I just had to leave a comment! I have been wanting that for the past 3 yrs and have asked for it every Christmas but dang it I’m not loved enough! lol So I get jewelry instead which isn’t bad but still … Anyways we’re house hunting and that shall be a house warming gift to myself when we do buy a house. I’m sure you’ve heard of the iPhone that won’t come out till this June? And I’m with you on the GPS. I’m always looking up google maps to find out where I need to go and turn. The blackberry’s next on my gadget list.
