Everyday fun and pains
Well another eventful day in paradise!
* shopped with Christmas money for Squirt — quite a haul of 2 jeans, 2 shirts, 1 pair capri — ganga prices.
* Stopped at Borders to utilize gift cards. Got the first book of the Twilight series recommended by thefoursome, who by the way is in recovery from her elective surgery…please wish her well!
* Went to the Periodontists, who after an examination concluded I would probably have to lose some of my teeth….sigh. This is what happens when you avoid dentists for decades.
* Hubby bent the pretty red beamer by running into another car
* storm and rain coming in — yuck
* found out that dear friends D and C and the twins are coming (aka ThisIsBullDookie) will be here the end of January for a two week visit — HOORAY (actually found that out yesterday).
* ordered textbooks for classes, although one class has no text listed at the book store — hopefully I don’t need one!
* Moved files from desktop and hubby is reformatting and reloading.
Regular everyday stuff. Nothing major. You should have seen me negotiating with the counter help at Wendy’s — that was just about hysterical. You ever get that feeling that nothing you are saying..not one word, is getting through? That you are speaking some undecipherable language and the other person is trying to determine your thoughts through you facial expressions and osmosis? Yeah..it was like that.
Tomorrow I start my new regime, trying to get into my school schedule… which will include walking the dog, going to the beach, reading and working out every day.
So what about you guys? Plans for the new year?

Whoops. Pretty red beamer met another car today huh?
h-no: Hope it’s minor.
RYC: You’ve been thinking about doing scrapbooks or you’ve been thinking of becoming a CM consultant? I’ve been one for 8 1/2 years and I just love it. I especially love the digital StoryBooks CM offers now. Lovin’ the digital stuff. I thought it would be hard to transition from good old scrapbooking, but the digi stuff is just as fun
Thank you for the concern. I think mom can live to be a ripe old age, if we can just get her to pay a bit of attention to her aches and pains.
Had to laugh at the difference between what your daughter bought with her Christmas money and what my son bought. He bought books, dvds and pc games. Not a piece of clothing in sight!
I almost laughed when I read your Wendy’s experience. I was also at Wendy’s today and couldn’t hear a word the counter help spoke to me. Then he looked at me as if to say. “What’s wrong with you lady…” gosh! If only he would speak audibly in ENGLISH…. hmmmm
sorry to hear about the red beamer. yikes!
*sigh, another day in paradise eh? I want to join you!
rain and all…
Sorry to hear about the beamer… bummer beamer, huh?
My plans for the new year? Hmmm…. ’bout the same as last year’s. Get back on the ball (the excercise one) and purge…. by that I mean all the stuff I have, but don’t use. I’m tired of keeping all this stuff….
RYC….folks also have a little cottage in Maine, not far from where they grew up in Boston. The beach sand is hard, with subtle curves, so the bocce games are intense! The actual ‘court’ games are the best in the North End of Boston, where if you go up against the old Italian men, I don’t know whether it’s better to win or lose!

:dancingcow: i like this lil cow
hope you have a wonderful day sweetie! and so cool you’ll get to see thisisbulldookie !!!!! :celebrate:
sounds like you been a busy bee! Wendys thing cracked me up i actually feel that way going to a gas station half the people dont understand english its seems.Have a great day today
When did N start hitting other peoples cars with his own? I thought he only liked crashing his own cars together? :wink-wink:
Do you know how jazzed I am to be able to include a bottle of sunscreen in my luggage as opposed to thermal underwear?
:dancingcow:
Sounds like you’ve got the whole spectrum covered. My plans for the new year are to keep on keeping on. If a tiny bit of self-improvement sneaks in, that would be great too.
I’ve had that experience where you’re talking but it must be a foreign language to the listener. Now you know why they’re working at Wendy’s. Starting the day walking the beach sounds fabulous! Great excercise too. I start the day driving 20 miles to Eric’s school, in all types of weather! I can’t complain though. It’s January and we usually wake up to temps between 0-20 degrees. Today it’s supposed to be around 50! Very strange but I’m loving it!
Oh , I am so sad for your hubby, I know how he likes that beamer!
And I say that you should bring “go to the beach to the number one spot!….LOL
Sounds like you have been busy.
I know the feeling. I don’t have to get my school books until Monday, thank goodness. I have the rest of the week to just chill out and enjoy life a bit. And I sooo plan to do that. Take care. Hugs.
Sounds like a very eventful couple of days there! Good luck with your new regime. I too, vote to move go to the beach up the list. Sorry about the vehicle…..
Did you enjoy your children’s literature class? and what are you taking this semester, anything fun? I hope you enjoy it.
Angie keeps talking about that Twilight series, I am going to have to check it out. Do you think it is something that a college library that teaches a class on adolescent literature should have in the collection? I’d appreciate your input.
sounds so busy!! for me the routine of late is getup, go to work, come home, forage for food, clean the mess and collapse!
The new year looks a bit brighter and we will know fo sure how bright by the end of the month.
New Yeard resolutions? I make none. I do not like the pressure. I have enough of that already. I figure I eat what I want(in moderation) drink what I want (in moderation)…etc…Ya know that EVERYTHING is bad for you anyway….so why fight it??
You sound busy!! Enjoy taking down your decorations…that’s my project for this coming weekend. :frog:
Wow! You’ve been a busy bee! Why don’t you send some of that extra energy over this way? All I can seem to do is :sleepy:! Hugs~K.K.
My plans are to get through this weekend. Then we will see from there, lol.
Bummer about the Beamer. Sounds like you have been keeping busy. Sorry to hear about your teeth too. Andrew had is consult yesterday and wasn’t too keen on it but after hearing he might have major trouble down the road, decided to get it done. I have no plans today. It is raining and dreary and I have tons of stuff to clean and launder and put away. That’s the only problem with vacation. All the crap you have to do when you get back to make life normal again. We are going to put the house on the market this weekend though so hopefully that will go well. Have a great day
