Vrooom…. let’s drive!
OK — So I’ve been MIA for the last few days. Been working on school work, and busy going, going , going. You know how it goes…right??? Hah! Pun intended. At any rate, my allergies are killing me….. AAAARRRRGHHHHH….. sometimes the price of paradise is just too blasted high!!!
On Friday we went to see Stranger than Fiction — Too funny!! And sad… just good overall. Squirt had no interest in that so she went to see Flushed Away while we saw the other movie. I personally had no interest in watching a movie based entirely on potty humor — LITERALLY! Yuck. No thanks.
Today hubby and I went for a drive with the BMW CCA group. It was a great drive and a great day. We drove up through Kula, stopped at a beautiful park that has a great overlook. Then continued up to Ulupalakua. It’s a mouthful, but a great drive. Then we drove home taking back road into Paia and had lunch at Charley’s which is famous for frequent visits and shows by Wille Nelson. Personally not a big Willie fan, but the food was good and the company was great. Of course, I have pics!
A great view – you can see both harbors, but it’s kind of hazy, hard to see in this pic. Then below, the M3 emblem from Hubby’s car, and a side view of the cars all lined up. We got a chance to drive the Porsche Boxster, NICE!!
This afternoon we had some drama with Silver_Fangz. I’m not sure if I mentioned that she broke up with boyfriend a couple of days after Halloween. That whole thing was a drama. After that one of the kids that hung out with the trolls asked her out. Initially she said “no” she wasn’t ready. But they became close. This is where her dad and I stepped in, why? Because like Air Force guy, he’s 18. Uhhhh…NO. Not going to happen. He’s a nice kid, but too much difference in what an 18 yo expects and what a 15 yo expects. At any rate, we had some drama over that tonight. <sigh>. So we’re dealing with that. Ahhhh…teens…too much fun!
Tomorrow we are contemplating so time at the beach. Some sun and surf sounds like just the ticket to get me out of my funk. Hope everyone has had a great week end!
Question for the day:
Do you enjoy drives as a leisure activity….or only to get from A to B?

Wow that’s pretty!! I’m glad to hear Stranger than Fiction was good. I’m really anxious to see it
I like leisurely drives if I’m alone. Not so much with others in the car
teens and the drama!!! i enjoy driving on a nice country road, but usually i just drive to get to where i need to go
im so not looking forward to my daughter dating aghhhh cant they stay small? i love to drive and look at all the houses and new places to visit.Beautiful scenery. Have agreat day
All those cars are yours? Nice!
I like to drive by myself, with the music turned up excruciatingly loud!
I am glad to hear Stranger than Fiction is decent…I couldn’t tell by the reviews and previews if it was an “emotional riot” or “train wreck.”
I love to drive! Sometimes, I look for excuses to go somewhere so I can drive. I hate high gas prices…
Beautiful pictures
Some day I’ll go there. I can dream
I’m glad to hear that the movie is good, I plan to see it this month.
A to B now a days
Have a nice day hugs
I love to drive, anywhere, anytime. Whenever we go on a family trip, I drive. Hubby puts in a lot of miles at work so he doesn’t mind if I drive. He falls asleep and then I go as fast as I want to!
Enjoy the beach for me…it’s rainy and about 40 degrees here today.
If someone else is driving and I am just the passenger, then I like going on drives just to drive.
I actually hear the flushing movie is good ( for adults too ) but I think I’ll wait for the DVD. Matt is discouraged from asking 15 year olds out.
I wish I could go to the beach…… Have fun there and clear your head, and maybe the cares of the week will fade.
I love going for long drives in the country but don’t really take the time to do it very often. If I did, I probably wouldn’t appreciate it as much.
Have a good week!
Hope your sinuses are better! As for the question, we used to take Sunday drives every week when I was a kid. Now I drive so much just trying to get through a day that it’s not something I’d consider relaxing. LOL So in my old age, I’m “Point A to Point B” all the way.

:heartbeat: The pics! :heartbeat: I like to go for drive if my husband is driving. I like to gawk at things and it’s hard to do if I’m driving. I remember a few years ago when we got a new car and took it out every evening. Gas prices do have some factor but if we want to go we still do.
I feel your pain re: teens and beautiful young daughters who catch the attention of boys too old for them. Sometimes I just want to scream at the boys, “SHE’S ONLY 14!” Of course, that would be way too uncool, so I just keep reminding her. If I have enough extra time that I could drive for leisure, I would rather curl up with a good bood. I only drive to get from point to point.
OHHHH teenage drama….yep know what that is all about….Sarah is home, after fighting with her Dad because he did not want to allow her 18 year old friend to take Sarah to meet up with his girlfriend and 4 other people for a movie…this would be the 18 year old freind that is a small group leader at church….but I did understand his concern, he didn’t know this kid, but Mike and do, for the last 2 years…LOL….I think we see 18 and pair it with 15 and go NOPE, no way, the only reason we allow this friendship with Sarah is because David has a girlfriend who he have also met and like, so we know he is JUST a friend and nothing more.
Anyway, sorry to see that hubby did not get his promotion, but I am glad you are all looking forward to getting back to NM….YEAH!
I like to drive for leisure if we are going somewhere fun. Mundane driving gets…well…mundane sometimes. It has to be done though and I am just glad I can drive. More teen angst. Agggghhhh. Hang in there mom. You didn’t want to see a potty humor movie? Andrew shows no interest in any of the cartoon movies anymore. I guess that means he is growing up. Have a good day
Driving when I am not in a hurry is great. If I am worried about getting some place on time or on a schedule it is too frustrating. I am not a big car fan but my husband is and if he had the opportunity to drive some of his favorites I am sure he would be thrilled to go on drive after drive as leisure time…and if I am riding and not driving….Baby you can drive my car!
Sounds like you and Alicia must have children on the same drama cycle. Guess no one said it would be easy to raise them did they?
Great Pictures!
Thanks for the encouraging words! That’s exactly why I quit… for my girls. Can’t tell them ‘no, you can’t' as I light one, huh? I’d just had enough… enough guilt, enough money wasted, enough lectures from my Dr., enough of it… it was no fun anymore, lol… not that it ever was!
I never drive for pleasure anymore… I miss good ol’ country roads. This county is so crowded, it’s stressful just to go 5 miles!
I want to see that movie too, it looked good. Nice pictures. I hope you get feeling better. Oh yeah teenage drama, it so much fun, not.
I usuall go from point a to b. But some places I enjoy driving to some places, that are pretty.
