  • What were we thinkin?

That’s what I ask myself periodically.  Why did I ever sign up for this? Did I really WANT to do this? And if so…why????? WHAT on earth were we thinkin?!? If you don’t have to wonder what I’m talking about, then you too are probably a parent.

I keep thinking that the next stage will be better. And it is. It’s also worse.

We have Silver_Fangz with a disastrous first date, and a rocky start to a new relationship. In addition we have to pry her off the computer and phone in order to have her do chores (like hang up her soggy towels) and do her homework. That’s if she’s even home. In addition she has become a vegetarian, who doesn’t like vegetables…..????????

Then we have Squirt, who refuses to make any efforts to increase her friends and then complains that she doesn’t have anyone to play with. In addition she complains about EVERYTHING!! And everyone is out to get her. No one likes her and her new horse trainer is doesn’t like her –etc., etc, etc. And boy can she argue!! Yikes.

Tip of the day: Don’t teach your children Logic — They WILL use it against you!

Excuse me when I go and pull my eyebrows out.

You know I asked my mom one time why she didn’t stop me when she saw where I was headed. She knew what it was like and it was her job as my mother to protect me from myself. She should have stopped me. Why didn’t she?????

You know… she just laughed evilly….

  • I am sorry but I had to laugh, when you said ” excuse me I have to go pull my eyebrows out”.  This too shall pass. But for now, Calgon take me away.

  • i’m making my mother pull her own eyebrows out.

    how cool is that?

  • My mother insists that I gave her gray hair….and I don’t have any children so why do I have gray hair???? Must be those darn cats!

Sounds like your mom issued the “mother’s curse”…”some day you will have children who will act just like you!”

  • Doesn’t like veggies?  Now that is weird.  Sounds like Squirt is just being normal and well Fangz too.  I was just like that when I was their ages, respectfully.  I know if I were to ask my mother the same question you did, she too would have laughed evily and said “KARMA”.  We tell Andrew all the time that when he complains about stuff we ask him to do, to just remember this when he has kids and to not call us if his son won’t do this or that.  He just rolls his eyes.  KIDS.  gotta love em.  Don’t pull out YOUR eyebrows.  Pull out theirs.  HEE HEE HEE.  J/K  Have a great weekend

  • My mom, when faced with the question, “Why didn’t you tell me?” always responded with, “You didn’t ask.”  Of course, it makes her day when my kids give me back some of what I gave her.  I’m looking forward to grandkids…

  • Hmmm, reading posts like this make me love my dog even more.  Although, it sounds like your home is never dull!

  • I am having some lovley times with my children myself and they are much older, I have a feeling as long as they live with you, this crap never ends.

  • my mother is loving watching my kids turn into teens on me ;)

  • ROTFL… I know that evil laugh very well! :spinning:

  • My kid won’t even touch vegetables, unless they’re french fried or smushed into pizza sauce.  As for the arguing, the only language Chris seems to know is “Argue ’til your eyes fall out.”  Welcome to the world of teenagers!

  • Ahhhh, the trials and tribulations of parenthood!

  • Sounds like a busy weekend!!

  • I love CSI….one of my favorite shows…..hope you are having a great weekend.:sunny::wave:

  • ahh we all have been there one time or another with children… lol love the comment pulling eyebrow out. its never a dull moment with kids is it? always something going on at every second. it will get better have a great day!

  • thanks for the laugh of my day.  We all have days like this and as one mom to another…we have daughters…

Track their monthly visits and expects some weeks to be pure agony for you….. Isn’t it lovely to be a woman, and a monther to little women?  Your mother laughs?  You should have both laughed till you cried.  Someday we will miss our children and days like this will be only a memory. (and hopefully we will laugh about it someday)
