Alright…. I see how you are! Not interested in reading or responding to miles long surveys huh??? I guess I’m the only one with time on my hands (that will change when my classes start!).
Not much going on around here. Hubby has been swamped getting ready for a big conference they hold every year. Squirt has been keeping up with her school work and spending time with her friends and Silver_Fangz has been on the computer with friends, over at friends’ houses, meeting friends at the library, beach and movies. You know the same. We had some drama around here of the teen angst boy/girl kind but it’s getting better.
I of course, being the excellent mother I am (*ahem*), felt it my duty to rip this boys eyes out. Just on principal you understand. However, I’ve tried to keep my opinions and involvement to a minimum. My hubby, being the voice of reason that he is, has tried to offer possibilities and insight into a 15 yo boy’s mind. Like he would know… honestly! Oh………………………. wait, I guess he might at that.
*sigh*
I often ask myself why on earth I became a parent! Then I look at my two beautiful daughters and I know. My world would be empty with them in it. So… here I am, dealing with the kinds of things no person in there right mind would be willing to sign up for.
Squirt also started her science magnet classes — they may be pretty cool, and she begins gymnastics later on today. Last week in her regular science class she had to make an edible plant cell model. She did really well. See for yourself:
Pretty cool huh? It was fun to do too. She loves stuff like that. The cell wall was sugar cookie, the membrane was fruit roll ups, the nucleus was a cookie wrapped in a fruit roll up. The other parts and pieces were various types of candies.
Alright — I’m off to get ready for my day. Have to take Squirt to gymnastics, clean house, do laundry and go grocery shopping. Fun huh?
Have a fun filled day!
Question for the day:
What’s the latest project you worked on?

Girl, that is why I am glad I have a boy. I agree with you too about having kids. I don’t know what my life would be like if I wasn’t a mom. I know it would be empty and lonely. He is such a joy. I have a friend that told me many years ago that she was glad she has 2 boys cause you only have to worry about one you know. With girls you have to worry about all of them. Have a fun day running around.
That is the coolest project, way to go. Teenager with out drama, impossible, hehe.
My eldest son Doug taught science in a magnet school in New Orleans, he did the edible plant cell thing with them 3 years ago, he said they had a blast.
The last project I had was this past Sunday afternoon, I designed and put together a “birdhouse condo”, which is decorated in red white and blue, I will post a picture of it soon, it went in one of my flower beds….
RYC: Welcome to the sisterhood!
Teens, some times you love ‘em, sometimes. . well, sometimes!
RYC: I love my Dyson. . . it really does have great suction. . .providing of course, you keep that dang ol beater bar clean! It has a hepa filter that NEVER has to be changed! Can you imagine?~K.K.
LOL! That project is GREAT! I love it! I guess the last one we did was when SD had to make the wardrobe from the movie the Lion the Witch & the Wardrobe. When you opened it, she had paper scrolling with different scenes from the movie on it. It turned out really neat! I remember doing a similar project like yours in 6th grade with clay. I had so much fun doing stuff like that.
third period current events poster.
HA! You’ve seen my latelst project!
ryc: The Fool is a great card! “The sun behind the Fool suggests the one divine spirit filling all of creation with life. The Fool is the universal life-giving principle called super-conciousness, the changeless reality that expresses itself through continuous change.”
Last project I helped with… uh, probably a President’s Report last year. I now know more about all the Presidents than I ever wanted to… but, shhh, don’t tell the teacher!
Cool edible project!
The first time I really, really got my heart broken I was 19 and my mom went and found the boy and had a talk with him! Pretty much telling him not to play games with me. Funny thing, it was my hubby! It was actually kind of silly kid crap but at the time, to me, it was the end of the world of course and she couldnt stand to see me hurting. I was embarrassed but I sort of appreciated it too. I guess whatever she said made him think cause we have been together ever since!
Wow, she did a great job on the project, looks cool! Enjoy the rest of your day. :sunny:
Love that edible cell! I will have to file that one away for when we study cells here.
Latest project: almost finished a crocheted totebag I am making. The crocheting is done, but I need to do the lining for it.
What a great project and you can eat it! how cool!
Projects…..does writing thank you notes count as a project? I am desperately trying to get through with all of that stuff from the wedding and running behind. Our semester starts next week and I’ll be swamped for about 2 weeks and will not have much time so I really want to be finished. I also really want to thank people!
I have tried flylady and liked parts of it, just not all of it. I still try to do a “weekly blessing” but i’m not crazy about the weekly zone thing. I need to move threw quicker than that
The clutter upstairs is mostly books, and it’s not that it’s clutter it’s that I can’t keep Savannah from pulling them off the shelves :nono: Same with the DVD’s in my room, it’s one of her favorite things to do  Oh well. Have a good night.
