Well it’s been fun and busy this week end.
Friday we went to a Hail and Farewell. Some folks that I really like leave today. Headed in ThisIsBullDookie’s direction. Make sure you have Neil cook you some Jerk chicken and some of his famous potatoes… they are excellent!
It was a great day Friday. The picnic was at a beach park we all really like, and thanks to hurricane Daniel we had some nice swells. We played in the surf — body surfing in overhead sized waves — actually I was not in the mood to have 3 tons of sand in my suit so I just bobbed with Jill while hubby and some of the others body surfed. They had a great time and so did we. Squirt brought a friend and they played in the large grassy area, running, flying kites and climbing trees. They ate tons of food and generally had a blast. Silver_Fangz read and listened to music — a friend of hers showed up, but she had relatives with her so it was kinda of awkward, but SF was happy reading one of the new books she received for her birthday.
Her birthday was 4 — 5 including Squirt — teenage girls. Eating everything in sight and being wild. They made the birthday cake in teams, having a race… it was something else! She got books, gift cards for Borders, Jamba, and Ben Franklins, a handmade Eskimo doll from an online friend who lives in Alaska, a new bathrobe she’s been wanting, a pair of converse slippah (flip flops for you mainlanders) and a couple of shirts from Hot Topix. Pretty good for a “small” birthday!
I’m thinking of selling my jeep (sigh) just because there are more practical vehicles and we are looking at on now. An older Ford Escape. It carries more people, more stuff and has better gas mileage as well as costing less… ie… lower payment.
I love my Jeep though.
But….it’s just a car, and I can always buy another one in a few years if I really want one.
Right? —- RIGHT!
The other bad thing…the Escape is school bus yellow ~ I am not kidding! We were just making fun of those las month!! OOOPS!! Guess someone will making fun of me from now on!
What color do you like on cars?

Sounds like a wonderful weekend
And your right, it’s just a car, even if the Escape is “school bus yellow”
Have a great week.
Sounds like everyone had a great time. What’s not to love about flip flops. I think a yellow escape wouldn’t be so bad. I love the forest green cars and my CRV is black. I think I have had every color car except green, and school bus yellow: lol: Have a great week
I’m partial to blue, black, silver, and burgandy. I’ve had almost every color car but not yellow. However, I did have a bright, neon, lime green. It was horrendous. We had to make fun of ourselves! We called it the green goblin, lol.
Nice weekend… I did nothing but read, workout and worry.
Housework… ok- yes, that’s part of what my tomorrow (today) will bring.
But kids going to school, already? Mine start on Aug. 15th. Of course my daughter and (adoptive) daughter -for the week started drill team camp this a.m.
To answer your question… I like silver, my van is silver; we call her “Bullet”… also dark metallic grey because that is as close to silver as I could get for my car; poor thing didn’t get a name.
Also, black isn’t too bad, that’s what color hubby’s motorcycle is and he looks so hot on it. I don’t know if I want to know if he named it.
The color I hate… red and guess what color my daughter’s car is? Yes, she calls it “Salsa”.
Have a great week. “Enjoy what the Lord hath made”.
Isn’t it amazing how much teenage girls eat? It sounds like your weekend was tons of fun! I love jerk chicken…
My car is a 12 passenger van (because of our huge family). I couldn’t bear the thought of white because (it’s bad enough driving a bus/car this size) and it would like like a utility van. So, we ordered it in a bright blue and it looks pretty good for a 12 passenger van. I also love black on cars. Yellow will be tolerable for you when you think of all the ‘green’ you are saving. After all, the color of our vehicles doesn’t sum up the whole of who we are. Besides, the yellow will give you a distinct-ive-ness, and charm. Everyone will know it’s you when you’re heading up the road. Just don’t call it your lemon…
ryc: I love depression glass, and my parents had boxes of it (the pink kind) and my sister got all that. I just didn’t have the room when it was given away, so, I missed out. I love things with a history too. Someday, I’ll post pics of the quilts.
I like red cars, those are cool. :coolman: sounds like a great time this weekend.
me likes the pretty ones!
the color has to fit the body style or the personality of the vehicle too. My sporty pontiac was silver. the truck is white cause its dull and boring. My van is maroon and I hear thats the soccer mom’s color of choice.
School bus yellow huh? Well, some times practical must win out. Mine is dark blue, or it was when it was new 12 years ago. Now it is mostly dirty dark blue!
I really like Knight’s Tale and will be interested in your opinion. I liked the Chaucer element to it with the modern music. It is one I will watch whenever I see it.
Hope you have a great week!
