  • There’s no place like home… there’s no place like home…

    I’m home! At last!

I had a great time in New Mexico. I enjoyed every minute with my mom, dad, sister, nephew and niece. I spent a great day hanging with one of my all time best friends in Tucson. But man……, who left on the bloody heater out there??? Yikes! Tucson was running 111-114 degrees. Even at night when the sun was down and there was a breeze — it still felt like the inside of an oven. I have no desire to ever again live in those kinds of environments. NM was nice — high 80′s occasional low 90 with fairly constant cool breezes. It was nice to get back to the green and see the ocean and feel the cool ocean breezes though.

I think when we leave here, I’m going to miss it more than I planned. I’ve even considered the possibility that I might want to stay here permanently. I know SF would agree, and hubby would sign right up for that. Squirt would be a problem however. Getting land and horses is something that only the wealthy do here, and although we play wealthy people on TV — we’re just your average working class joes.

I guess I’ll adjust to being without the ocean.

    And the green.

    And the flowers.

And the gorgeous skies — last night it felt like the stars were close enough to touch. (after I woke up from my early slumber — I fell asleep on the couch at 8:30 after a long day traveling. My clock is still out of whack, I’m getting tired now although it’s only 5:00 pm here (it’s 9:00 pm in NM).

Well, I gotta go do some other stuff….tons to do! You know what it’s like after being gone for 2 weeks. Tomorrow is SF birthday… I can’t believe she’s 15! Wow, where does the time go?

I hope to catch up with subs and stuff tonight, if not then tomorrow. I have lots of great stories and adventures to share, and maybe, I’ll even remember some of them. Until then…

    Hasta la vista!

  • Welcome home!  I’m a slacker and still haven’t been to the post office.   But amuse with some stories about your vacation, and I might get more motivated.  LOL!

  • Welcome home.  My husband says “I’m sure the surface of the sun is nice and all, but I don’t really want to visit.”  That’s how I feel about Tucson in July :)   I’m sure the ocean breezes were a most welcome welcome home!

  • yeah, i’m pretty much down with staying here untill i graduate. but yeah, it would suck for bugg. i know she loves horses, and having to wait even longer would be no fun. but i would still love to graduate here. lol hard decision eh?

  • Welcome back.  Sounds like you had a great trip.  Don’t the kids just grow way too fast?  YIKES.

I bet it will be hard to leave the ocean breezes etc.  LOL, you play wealthy on TV.  You are too funny.

RYC:  I feel for ya with the fleas but at least with ants I can follow a trail and spray them.  Fleas would be horrible to get rid of.  I am so sorry.  The ants don’t bite much either.

Have a good catch up day.

  • Sounds like heaven after the heat most everyone has been experiencing. People keep telling me that it isn’t as bad in the southwest because it is a dry heat. Here in Alabama we have our humidity festival along with our heat waves and that equals miserable. However, HOT is HOT! and triple digit temperature is HOT!

Good luck catching up on everything. Funny how much stuff there is to do after a trip. Have fun!

Thanks for coming by my site. :sunny:

  • Glad you enjoyed your trip. Pictures?  I don’t see how anyone can live in that heat.  Upper 90s and low 100s is already too hot for my blood.

  • Hey welcome back. I rather live where you live. It has been hot all over the country, yuck. We are suppose to hit 100 tomorrow, and I live in Minnesota, what is up with that, oh well. We are looking foward to seeing pictures.

  • Thanks for soming to my site and telling me about your 91 year old neighbor who played the piano for silent movies.  I love the elderly, I think they are so interesting!

I’m in the mid-west, Kansas to be exact and the last week, we have actually had cooler temperatures (70′s – mid 80′s).  The triple digits are to return this weekend with no relief in sight.  Someone tell me whats going on ?  I don’t know where you live, but leaving the ocean would be so hard for me too.  Having the breeze keeping the air moving has got to be wonderful.  Why are you leaving?

I would like to hear about your trip too.  Especially NM, because I have a cousin that lives there.  I can’t imagine a place where theres no grass or greenery.  That would be strange to me.

    Have a nice weekend!

  • Yeah, but it’s a dry heat, right? Lol. 114 degrees! Whoa! I hope you guys were able to enjoy some sunsets. Nothing like them anywhere else.

  • ryc:  ahhh, this makes sense to me then.  I have a girlfriend who also lives in Hawaii, but is a transplant from Minesota.  Nothing will get her to leave, so I understand your love for this state.

I wondered if your family was military.  I would give a lot to have my dad back for even one day, so my advice (even though you never asked for it) is to live near your parents if at all possible.  At least close enough to visit frequently.  You’ll never regret that, and your kids will enjoy the memories they will build with them.  How long before retirement?  Have you been with the AF 20 or 30 years?  How exciting, but bittersweet.  I made some of the best friends while my husband was in the Navy, but he was only in for 4 years.  (ok-go ahead, I know you want to say it…he might have been a lifer if it was the air-force…)

  • :sunny: WELCOME BACK GIRL!!! :goodjob: :sunny:

it sounds like you had a wonderful time in NM…but wow it got up to 111 to 114 there..Holy moses that is HOT. It’s 90 here & I can just barely survive it LOL.

NP about the late comment. It’s all good. Glad to hear from ya though. Thx for the B-day wishes for my neice. Hope ur doing well. TC

    Hugs,
    Amanda
