  • Survey says………………… ME Time is the number 1 answer with a 90% favorable response. 3 people mentioned family time and 2 talked about couple time.

I’m going to be getting some quality and quantity couple time in just a couple of weeks. Only 18 more days till Silver_Fangz leaves for Europe, and just 2 days later, Squirt will be off on a riding vacation to California. Everyone is very excited, and plans are starting to come together. Yesterday we signed up for a credit card for SF. It a preloaded one that we can control from here. She will be able to use it a visa, or get cash from an ATM with it. This way we can add more money if she needs it for some reason.

For Squirt I’m planning to get her a MiGo phone, so she can call home if she needs to. We still have to figure out a phone or phone card for SF.

I am evidently finished homeschooling the landlord’s son. To which I am some what relieved. The last two weeks of school are generally down times for us. We have to gather our materials and return them (the ones that were purchased with charter school funds) and besides, she’s usually burnt about now. We are working on some logic exercises, reading, math and science. In addition we will be doing some sewing projects that she has started but hasn’t had a chance to finish.

I’ve been busy with school work. I’m yak, yak, yak, yak, yak, yak, yak …. yak. [you've heard it all before].

Most importantly only 6 more weeks till my vacation. Hooah!!

I’m off for another fun filled day of housecleaning, homeschooling and homework.

    Question of the day:

What was the last vacation you took? And do you take vacations besides those to visit family?

  • We took a vacation over Spring Break to Los Angeles to hit the amusement parks.  That was fun.  Before that, last year, we went to Mexico.  We are planning on Hawaii next year hopefully.  We have started taking less and less family visiting vacations.  We have done those for so long that it was time to broaden our horizons a bit.  I like the idea of the Visa card.  Son is going to L.A. to visit family :) and I don’t want him taking a bunch of cash.  Especially in her case though. Don’t want lots of cash in Europe.

  • First we visit family and then we leave the kiddo’s with said family and we go on a mini vacation. It’s the only way we seem to have found it works with two 4yr olds. :p

  • :sunny: hellooo not much longer to your vacation woohoo! We take vacation every year to visit our family.. We go to Florida since my parents and his dad live there then on way back home we stop in south carolina to visit his mom.I take the kids every summer to florida then hubby comes down for 14 days then he drives us back.

  • The last actual PLANNED *VACATION*?  Wow.  I think it was our ONLY planned vacation we’ve taken in our seven years of marriage.  Last summer, we planned a huge hoppie-de-do in New York City.  I went out first with a friend to catch a concert tour, and then when the concerts were over, my husband joined me and we stayed out there for four additional days hitting the sites and going to a Broadway show.  I fell in love with NYC!  We would love to go back soon, but probably not this year.  This year, the landscaping needs to take precedence.  :)   We’ve certainly taken those “trips” to visit family, but I don’t really consider those vacation – they’re just trips and ones we like to take regularly.  To me, vacation implies something different.  Unique. Really fun. Relaxation is nice, too, but sometimes the most exciting vacations don’t have that and they’re still considered great!  Now – I also like the idea of an amusement park vacation – I love roller coasters!
