Eye Doctors are from ….. well you get the picture
Yesterday was a complete waste for me. I had an appointment with my ophthalmologist. I HATE going there. It’s getting to where I hate that place almost as much as I hate dentists. First of all, they immediately dilate my eyes. GREAT!!! Not bad enough that I’m mostly blind, lets add dilation to the mix. Now not only can I not see, I can not see blurry and bright. Whoopee!! You know what gets me about that? They won’t let you leave without some kind of eye protection (sunglasses etc) because the bright lights might damage your dilated eyes. Before that however….. the doctor takes a light, put a prism magnifier on it, hold it about 1 mm away from my eyeball and shines a blindingly bright light right in my eye. My eyes are burning and watering and he’s over there saying “Now don’t squeeze or pull away, just be still and keep looking straight ahead.”
Why bother with the sunglasses??? I’m already blinded for life by the shining of light directly into my retina. Jeesh.
Not only that but they test for pressure etc. By the time I get home I have a massive headache, and I still can’t see. The whole day was wasted. Couldn’t read my assignments, type on the computer, even update or blog. How pathetic is that? Then he asks again about getting another LP (read extreme pain). Seriously, I’m fine with it, as long as they stick that long a## needle in his back, not mine. After all that he claims I’m stable… no change. So….. let’s review the reason for the LP again??? There’s nothing wrong, everything looks good….. we need this why????
I honestly believe its just so he can have the experience.
Fortunately, I do not see myself as a test subject and can freely without any guilt or sorrow tell him to go stick it some where else.

So today I did assignments. Had to retake a quiz. Talked to a friend in CA and a friend in AZ. Went to Lowe’s (during lunch hour traffic — what on earth was I thinking) and got some stuff to do my fender flares on my jeep. Hopefully it works. I love my Jeep. So far, it’s my favorite vehicle. Although the Camaro Berlinetta was cool, and I loved my motorcycle, this tops my favorites list. I’ve decided I’m taking it with me when we leave. I’ll need a truck when we get to NM for the horses, but I’m keeping my Jeep. Why?? Because I can!

What has been your favorite car — and did any of them have a name (put in especially for ThisIsBullDookie)?

My favorite car was a 1988 Town and Country station wagon named Lucy. I was in college and you could fit lots of things in the back of that thing. My second favorite was my aunt Black with Red Leather interior Firebird. I have no idea was year it was but I will take a stab at it and guess 1980. I used to ride on the armrest all the way to the beach! I alwayas called her Sally. My third favorite was the litte 1996 Hyundai Accent named Charlie. That thign flew…literally. I took it airborne once and that was so much fun!
hellooo
omg ya had me laughing about your eye doctor!! That is sooo true!I really never had a favorite car.I have a minivan thats cause i have 3 kids and one dog and 2 cats so it comes in handy when we move.I call it bertha lol
bad eye doctor!
we should send him a hate letter.
I had a Geo Metro that I LOVED! That little baby got 45 – 50 mpg. But even if my ex hadn’t insisted on trading it in for a pickup truck, I wouldn’t be able to use it today – not with four kids and a DH who is 6’4″, LOL!
My favorite car was our Honda Accord. We had a couple of vans that had names, Lucy and Thomas. I suppose the Honda could of been called Zoom Zoom! lol
I don’t really care for the eye doctor either. Hmmm…fav car…well, prob my 1995 Cavalier that my ex husband bought me for Christmas one year. It was a beautiful blue…then he wrecked it a couple years later…uughh. So now I’m stuck with a windstar that despartely needs cleaning & some work done on it.
I don’t enjoy going to the eye dr either. Although, I have a good one here in town and he gives me reversing drops so that the time your eyes are dilated is a lot less. I used to be dilated all dang day long but now with those drops I am only dilated for half the time. It is nice. I do still have to use the huge sunglasses.
My favorite car is a 1966 mustang but don’t have one. I did have a 1967 Buick LeSabre that was HUGE and green so I called it the Booger. Hope your weekend is going well
hort! you already know my favorite car!! Eureka Myrtle was one in a million. Your lucky to have met her!
Your eye appointment sounds about as bad as my week. Yet Im not really willing to trade.
Something about needles in your back and blinding light in your eye just doesn’t appeal to me. Then again, violent episodes of puking and pooing are just not floating my boat either. I guess I can’t win.
I have never had a car I really loved, isn’t that sad : ( RYC: Thanks yeah I did not like it there.
