  • Went to the brain doc and the eyeball doc again. I’m still kind of holding a resentment against them since they did not approve my diving. Phooey on them.

I’m not good with authority any ways, and now that I’m ticked off, I’m even less likely to be a “good” patient.

Stupid eyeball doctor, dilated my eyeballs and poked around in them again. I HATE IT when he does that!!!! Then since they were numb, I went to put in my contacts and succeeded in sticking my fingers in my own eyes ( I couldn’t tell cause they were numb — see????) — BUT I can tell now!! Boy are they hurting. Fun, fun, fun.

Stupid Eyeball doctor also wanted to know when I was having another LP — (lumbar puncture aka spinal tap, aka cruel and unusual punishment). He also felt like we should be doing something more “permanent and long term” for my treatment… i.e. having a shunt put in.  I DON’T THINK SO…. unless of course, we put it in him, in which case I am perfectly cool with it. I think he just wants to be experienced with that sort of thing, as by his own admission, he knows very little about PTC (my lame ass condition).

So of course he called the Brain doc, and expressed his concerns… so the brain doc upped my medicine. Which in itself is not so bad, however this doc likes to keep close tabs on me and my meds so I need labs today and then again in two weeks, and then every two weeks for the next 2 months till he’s sure I’m not going to fall over of dehydration or something.

Lab techs are people who really want to be vampires. They have enough of my blood to give me a transfusion. I feel no compunction to supply them with additional blood.

Besides, I’m still ticked off remember??? So being a “good” patient and getting my labs as requested………… probably not going to go well.

Well enough with the medical broohaha…….. on to more pleasant subjects.

Hmmmm… can’t think of any as I’m still brooding about the incompetency and inadequacies of the medical field.

Sooo…. I guess that I’ll have to sign off for the night and leave you guys with a hope for a brighter tomorrow. (although if you have ever had your eyes dilated, you’ll know that today was pretty darn bright… all day!)
