  • Welcome to viocodin land

    intrusive parents

    I had this whole entry on how bad my week has been. But I’m so sick of listening to myself complain and list my ailments that I deleted.

    So there. It no longer exsists. Hah.

    Right now my life is oh so not fun. Nothing major, just life crap. I just need to spice it up some. Get out of my rut. Change things up. Yep. That’s exactly what I need. Hey Terriffic58 – I’m off all week – photo outing?? I’d love to go to the zoo, haven’t been there yet. Pick a day. I’ll make my self unavailable and we’ll do it!  *edit* actually, I now have a treadmill stress test tomorrow in the morning, and orientation at RRS Wednesday morning — I’m free afternoons and Thursday and Friday – what’d you say???

    Parents annoy

    Sound familiar??

  • I know what you mean…the more we complain, the more we relive it. Sometimes it’s better just to let it go.

    Gosh, I love Zits! They are right on to how teenagers are! :wink-wink:

  • :big-smile:  Hope you feel better soon :big-smile:

  • I can do tomorrow afternoon after your test or Thursday.  Friday I have weigh in at 9:30 until 10:30.   Wednesday I am getting ready to have up to 12 people over for dinner.  What is this about orientation with RR?  Did you get a job?

  • Gotta love that cartoon – it’s so authentic.

    Vicodin is strange stuff – hope you’re feeling better soon.

  • Careful with those biting, stinging, nasty things….and watch out for the bugs too! LOL!

    Take care.

  • I am more :grin: :celebrate: than :steamed::oh-no:most of the time…complaining just doesn’t do it for me, either :flirty:

    well, except :steamed::steamed::steamed::oh-no: DANG, I really don’t want to go to jury duty! :o h-no::steamed:

    :tongue::ROTFL:

    ok, that’s out of my system…please keep your fingers crosed for me that I sit, sit, sit the day away, then just get to come home!!

  • I can also do this afternoon if I am home by 5:30 and I can do tomorrow any time up until 4:30 if I don’t make homemade lasagna for tomorrow night. I just need to know sooner than later so that I can arrange my day’s errands around the fun times. As for now, I am heading towards the treadmill for about 30 minutes. It might be easier for you to call me when you get up.

  • This intrusive parent loves those cartoons!

  • @WakeUpLaughing - I know, I hate complaining (whether it’s me or someone else doing it) – letting it go is much more effective! I KNOW – you know the artist has teens. Has to!

    @homeschoolingthem -  Thanks!

    @suzyQ_darnit - It is strange! I’m glad I only had to take it that first night.. ugh.

    @LIF1955 - Will do!

    @AroundJoy - I’ve got my fingers crossed for you –how’d it go?

    @terrific58 - I didn’t have time to check this this morning. Will call you this afternoon — how bout Thursday morning/ early afternoon?

    @TeacherPerson - As a fellow intrusive parent, I applaud your diligence.

  • Call me and let me know what works for you.  T

  • I was just telling my daughter this morning how my parents never checked on me or watched anything anything I did.  (this after confessing I smoked my first cigarrette at age 10….)  I told them it made me feel like they didn’t even care and that the reason I was so watchful over them because of all the trouble I found while no one was watching me.  I told them if I was on their case about seemingly everything, it was because I cared so much about them and the paths they take.  That mistakes were ok, but I would help them learn from them.

    These cartoons pegged me to a point, and gave me a reason to laugh.  It must be a real drag to be a teen at times-you can’t get away with anything these days.

  • Hey come on up. We can go to the mall and out for lunch. I’m game. Stress test. Are you stressed?

  • <laughing because I feel your pain> Oh, Honey! If your teens are making you feel this way, then congratulations! You are doing the parent thing exactly as it should be done. No one ever mentioned how emotionally exhausting having a teenager would be. Just keep hanging on for the “adult human” moments. They do happen every now and then.

  • I forgot that I had a 1 pm meeting this afternoon and I just now read your comment.  Sorry!  Tomorrow’s lunch plans are shakey.  I am planning on meeting with someone about a church matter but if they can’t make it, do ou want to do lunch?

  • How’d that “bug” bite work out?  That actually sounds like a nasty little spider bite.  Hope everything’s OK…dig the girls’ hair…Jess wants to get some hot pink streaks put through hers…I’m Ok with a few, but she’s got that blonde blonde hair…even spray hair color (the kind at Halloween) takes a month or so to wash out all the way…I can only imagine what real hair color would do…Yeah, my baby had her first day of HS this year, too…boo.
