Small steps forward
I’ve been doing pretty good this week. Watching my points and eating healthy. Drinking my water and taking my meds. Today was the first weigh in since starting and I was pleased to see the numbers going in the right direction! This week I lost 3.2 lbs. Woot. I’m just so glad that there was positive progress. Now to add in some more exercise and keep at the watching the points. Enough about that. On to more interesting, or should I say troubling events?
Lady Bug (who used to be called Squirt) is on major lock-down. She and her girlfriend decided to take a midnight romp through the neighbor hood. We found out about it yesterday. Of course, we were more than a little irked. It was worse when we found out that Ducky knew about it, BEFORE they left. Dang kids. Too much time on their hands, and a total disconnect from their brain has had a negative effect on them lately. When the girls were in elementary school – during the summers I had them do “school” 3 hours a day/ 3 days a week. They did math, reading, writing and usually spelling. Nothing to strenuous, just review stuff to keep their skills fresh. This was before I even started thinking about home schooling. They hated me. But you know what? They didn’t get into trouble. Of course – They were 10 and 8. Things were decidedly easier at that age. I love this age. Don’t get me wrong. But it’s a little harder to punish them. 5 minutes of time out doesn’t have the same effect. And it’s so vital that they learn to think – to use good judgement and to take care of themselves.
Anybody want a couple of teenagers? They are funny, pretty, smart (occasionally) and come with clothes and furniture. Anyone??
Nah, I wouldn’t give them up for the world. My life would be completely empty without them.
Besides, let’s face it. My childhood wasn’t full of stellar choices. I want to save my girls from learning some of that the hard way, the way I did. But my parents couldn’t teach me either, I had to learn the hard way. I guess we are a family of hard heads! LOL
I hope that everyone has a great 4th!

I’m sure they’re just trying to keep your life interesting, haha :wink-wink:
Have a great 4th of July! Sorry to here the girlies got in trouble. I hope things iron themselves out.
I’ll pass on the teenagers….been there, done that, lived to tell the story! :wink-wink:
Have a great weekend! :dancingcow:
Congrats on the loss! If I had the money, I would join and we could be WW buddies.
Happy Fourth to you, too!
Congrats on the progress.
congrats on your WW progress! :celebrate:
And as for teenagers, I definitely have my fair share. Now that we’ve blended families, I have 4.
I agree, it’s easier when they are younger!!
my parents didn’t find out most of my “escapades” until i was out of college. and i lived with them all but 3 months of my life. in fact they still don’t know about most of the stuff i did and didn’t end up doing in highschool. at least you’re attentive and found out. although i don’t know if that would be good or not for your mind.
Well done. Confratulations to you on your WW programme. Keep doing well.
Happy 4th to all you you guys of the States.
Teenagers are constantly testing their limits…bless their little hearts. You just have to be on top of their every move.
Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend.
I’m not really looking forward to the teenage years! Hey, at least you found out! My brothers used to leave the house in the night all the time and the folks were clueless. They used to soap car windows, spray shaving cream, you know, general mischief. I never snuck out but I had to sneak in a few times, very early in the morning.
I’m sure you’re a great parent. I like the summer school idea. Maybe that would keep Eric busy?
Congrats on losing! Man, I need to do something like that. Just can’t seem to get started.
Have a great 4th! The bbq and pool sound like fun!
CONGRATULATIONS…. YAY for postive progress:dancingcow:
That’s awesome progress!!! Go you!
Omigosh! midnight?!?! I shouldn’t talk, I did the same thing but I didn’t get caught but now I know that was a very stupid move…
Happy 4th dear friend
Hope you have a great 4th! Welcome to the world of the hard heads!
I blew it this week while we were out of town but didn’t gain any back so I’m happy about that. Time to buckle down and try to loose some more
Happy 4th!
If my mother ever found out about my little adventures she never mentioned it…I could have used a major lock down though!!
I’m glad I have time to prepare!! Although I’m sure before I know it…my unborn son will be a teenager raising hell on the streets of Suburbia!!
Hope you had a wonderful 4th!
*groan* how I long for the easy days when the kids were younger! I’m sorry the summertime orneries are hitting your kids. Like you, I couldn’t be taugh or stopped as a kid but had to learn the hard way. I keep thinking my kids are smarter than I was and yet they still surprise me with their actions at times. God help us both! lol!
CONGRATULATIONS on the weight loss! I just joined the gym today to head in the same direction as you-wish me well!
I’ve been without a computer for almost a month now and would like to hear how long you’ve been dieting and how much your total loss is. I think it’s great that you’ve lost this much this week.
I was never that “brave” to leave the house. Just have the boys over and talk through the window screen. That only happened once. Gee, did I ever have fun?
yeah…I don’t look forward to sneaking out…hoping my girls won’t do that. Teenagers do make silly decisions sometimes. How was your 4th?
Congratulations on healthy choices! Good for you!
Good luck with the teenagers………oh my.
