  • Kween of the Queens challenge

Our dear Kween has issued a new challenge. Since I was coming up with complete blanks for entries (my how boring my life is these days) I thought I would participate. I’ve missed quite a few challenges, both here and for featured grownups, but since my life has returned to it’s boring normal state, I foresee more participation on my part in the immediate future…………muawahahahahhahaha.

Alright, enough dawdling, here we go:

The Kween has issued a challenge of completing one of the challenges that she has listed on her site from the past. It’s a blast from the past! So, I choose a recent blast that I missed.

We are all coming to the end of yet another summer.  With the new school year either in session or in the near future, let us reflect:

     SUMMER

What was the best part of the past summer for you?  Give us details. Did you have any life lessons?  This challenge is the equivelent of “What I did on my Summer Vacation”, so make it your own!

    Remember:

Come back to the site to let me know that you’ve posted (leave a link address or just tell me you’ve posted).  Go to as many of the sites as you possibly can and leave comments and don’t forget to GIVE STARS!  You know you’d want everyone to leave you some!

Ahhhh…. what I did on my summer vacation! I’m not really sure this counts, as my regular readers all know what’s been going on with me this summer. But for those who have missed it, or those who read with their eyes closed – here’s a synopsis.

My summer was filled with major events and life changes. They say that some of the top stressors involve moving, changing jobs, retirement. Well, I’d sum up our summer by saying one word. STRESSED.  No, actually that’s not true. Although there was a lot of stress involved, we handled it pretty well – if I do say so myself.  Our summer consisted of life changing events, and we are still finding out exactly how much our life has, or will, change.

Instead of writing an essay of meaningless words, I’m going to try something different.

    Ducky’s confirmation: JOYFUL

    My graduation: PROUD

    Hubby’s Retirement: EMOTIONAL

    Packing out: STRESSFUL

    Traveling: TIRING

    2 months in hotels: CRAMPED

    Moving In:  EXHAUSTING

    Finding jobs: FRUSTRATING

    Learning a new town: FUN

    Being near family: WONDERFUL

    Girls starting new schools: INTIMIDATING

    Concerts, shows, and activities: EXCITING

    Overall all summer: MEMORABLE

Now to the final piece, did we learn any life lessons? Well, I have learned over the years that although I hate change it is sometimes good and necessary. I think that this has been emphasized over the summer. As well as the knowledge that God will provide. I haven’t really been worried about anything, secure in the knowledge that if I do the foot work, God will provide the things I NEED. Not want, but need. And as long as my needs are covered, I am OK. So here I sit, with a roof over my head, food in my belly and a family that loves me. I have a church, clothes and all my basic necissities. Life is good today.

Now trundle off and visit the Kween’s site for more challenges.

  • Great post. I love how you took one word to describe it all and such great words you chose.

RYC: andrew is eeling much better. Don’t think he will want to go to Buca De Bepo anytime soon. :big-smile:

  • Great post. And I love your banner at top. :)

  • wow, that stressed me out!!!!!! :frog:

  • You really had quite a summer – I don’t think you should try to top that!  : )

  • Wow, half of those could be me….yikes….. :frog:

  • You have indeed had a very memorable summer, and many of life’s stressors….I am often amazed at how well military families do when moving, especially given that they move so often, I am not sure I could do it, and yet my family moved a lot when I was a kid….somehow I think it is easier as a kid.

YOU GO GIRL!…by the way, how is the job front going?  I know that the school year has started and you are a teacher….

  • RYC:  We started Kayla in private school because she’ll have to go on to sixth grade next year which is middle school and our public middle and high schools here suck.  It was easier to get her in to private school now than to wait a year.  Sixth grade usually has a waiting list.  On the other had our elementary school is great.  So Ashley will have a couple more years there and then we will move her to private school in 4th grade before Kayla leaves the private school.  It’s going to be tough paying for this education, but it’s well worth it when it comes to the girls safety.

  • Great post! Sounds like your summer was more than eventful.

  • Wow!!  I just wanted to say hi, that I had visited!  Sounds like you had a completely crazy summer!  I wish you peace and blessings in your new transitions!

take care, and have a great day!

  • I read this earlier and was impressed with your approach, simple but so effective. I hope the job stuff goes well and quickly. You are right about something there, change is the only thing we can count on…and how you react will make or break you. You are not merely surviving, but also prevailing! YEE-HA!

  • Hi!

RYC and responded!! Take care and have a great day!

  • Stressful but exciting & busy! :so-cool: Great post. peace

  • Life is good!  Something I had to learn this year, too… God will provide exactly what I need… a lesson in grace.

I really like the new background, btw. :celebrate:
