My holiday is: Flitch Day. What on EARTH is Flitch day you may ask?? (ME too!) Here’s what they have to say:
An old custom from yesteryear developed into the holiday of
Flitch Day. Bacon was given to any married couple who could prove they
had lived in harmony and fidelity for one year. Very few “took home the
bacon”.
So the ENT was pretty concerned about her recurrent infections. It seems to be starting with a sore throat each time. He did the 5 minute strep test which was negative, but took a culture to send off to the lab because he’s pretty sure there’s something going on there. He’s going to call when he gets the results. In the meantime he started her on Septra which is supposed to be good for resistant strains. Hopefully this will kick it. Yesterday she slept all day and had a fever . Man it sucks that she is sick again!
Worked out again today. I really like working out on the treadmill. Wish I had one here at home, I would work out everyday. I managed to get an entire chapter from my text book read — killed two birds with one stone! If I had a tread mill here I could get all my reading done and get skinny at the same time!
At the very least I would have some place to hang my towel…….
You know what I hate about the gym?? Being around all these women in there various stages of undress. Today two women were changing in the area where I had my locker. They each were using two lockers, one on either side. They kept walking back and forth, taking all the benches and refused to get dressed. As I bent over tying my shoe one lady walked inches in front of my face….NOT nice!! Very disturbing. I’m just not the type who throws off my clothes and parades around nekked. Definitely NOT in my comfort zone! Even when I was young and had a great body I didn’t like getting naked in front of others. I would never have felt comfortable walking around a locker room buck naked and flashing my ta-tas to the entire world.
I’m working out again tomorrow, but I plan on coming home for a shower and changing!
So what about you??
Comfortable with streakin’ through the gym locker room, or more comfortable clothed??

I agree with you, I hate that too and most have nothing to show off about. :eek I take my shower and get dress there if they have a change area or I go to the bath room and change there. Not by my locker.

I’m not a prude but I won’t change in a locker room . I will find a bathroom stall and change in there.
idk, i never really cared when it was just girls. we’ve had to change together for PE for two years, so yeah – 30 girls, 3 bathrooms, 4 mins to change? nobody even tries. :fun:i DO have a problem with removing my underwear though. there’s just some things ppl dont need to know about. LOL
so anyways, yep, i’m sick again.

hope she feels better soon and the medicine works good for her this time. Nope i dont walk around naked either in locker room but i have seen many women do it.
I hope she feels better soon! Poor girl! I had that same problem in the locker room at the gym too. I really really feel uncomfortable with that. I come dressed & ready to go & take a shower when I get home. I know some people come straight from work, but that’s what the bathrooms are for. Just my worthless opinion I guess…LOL! I wish I could go tot he gym, but my there is something wrong with my foot & I can’t walk very good or stand long. ryc: thanks for the comment about the kids. I do make sure they come first, because I had a relationship a few years ago & I was so caught up in it that sometimes I didn’t. I promised them I would never do that again. Have a good weekend!

My birthday’s holiday is “Bad Poetry Day”.
I go to the gym, but I go dressed in my work out clothes and I leave. I take a shower when I get home. I don’t like taking a shower or changing in front of women I don’t know. I hated it in HS gym too. I don’t have a problem in front of my daughter or my girlfriends if we go to the beach or something, but there is something strange about women walking around naked in front of other women they don’t even know!
I like to read while I walk too. One time, though, I was in the base’s gym on the stairmaster. I started reading a new book, and in the first chapter, I was in tears. So there I was sweating and sobbing and feeling like an idiot. I now have a treadmill at home. Lost the stairmaster in the divorce, but it was worth it. I don’t mind being nekked in a locker room, but don’t piddle around about getting unnekked.
Sorry she’s sick again. The nap thing didn’t work yesterday but did today. I have it in full force now.
I have never been comfortable naked in front of others. I even told my mother I was banning her from the delivery room because I didn’t want a bunch of people seeing me like that! It sounds like those women are just rude and crude.
Nope hate the streakers at the gym. I am kind of glad we cancelled our membership and bought the towel hanger.
Now I can exercise in a sports bra and shorts without feeling like a big blob. I would hate though going into the locker room cause there they would all be. Free and flabby and flaunty. YUCK.
Septra seemed to work really well when Andrew had his strep, even though she doesn’t have strep. It seemed to knock out whatever was buggin him. Hopefully you can get some answers soon.
Oh we made our reservation for Hawaii for next June. We are going to Kauai. I hope it is nice there. Apparently all the other hotels were already booked. Geez.
Have they tested for Epstein’s Barr Virus? It lives in the throat.
Personally I liked going to Curves; until I started having trouble with my shoulder. When I was diagnosed with calcific tedinitis I called to see if I could hold my membership and start it again when I was released… they wouldn’t so it lapsed. I will not be re-newing; especially with a company that just basically “took” my money this month!
I can work out at home; I’m just not very disciplined about it. But I am getting quite a workout at work.

My holiday is “International Moment Of Frustration Scream Day,” which seems pretty appropriate to me, ROFL! And no running about unclothed for me. When I swam at the YMCA, I always did some fancy maneuvers with my towel to remain as covered as possible while changing. And those women who strut around in their birthday suits just strike me as plain old weird!
OMG, I feel exactly the same. I hate that. It makes me so uncomfortable. I too have always been that way. I wont get undressed in front of women family members or friends either. Um, excuse me, I’m going to the bathroom! I dont care if we all have the same parts!
I think you’re right. All I can do is smile and be as polite as I can muster. Everything I do or say will be twisted anyway. I’ve taken the position that I’ve let David try to handle it. He has been great in all of this. I just have to try to be gracious and somehow move on.

I laughed all the way through your post. I guess I’m not alone in this ‘no way will I strut around naked!’ vein, and for the life of me, I don’t understand women who do. Even for those needed yearly pap visits, the dr. has to pry my legs apart, and that little gown that ties in the back-I always want to request blankets to go with them…ha-I know tmi.
ryc: I explained letterboxing in the post before the pics. Maybe you missed that. I bet Ha. has some really cool stamps to collect.

Hope they nail exactly what’s wrong with her…no fun seeing your kiddo get sick over and over again…locker room…ewwwww….I always get changed IN the shower….I don’t want to mess with all that nudity…If I wanted to see some boobies I’d turn on skinemax for gosh sake! Though one time (gotta tell you this horror story) I was putting on my shoes, sitting out on the benches in front of the locker, this BIG, and rather elderly lady comes over to the locker right next to mine, naked as a jaybird. She then proceeds to towel off, making sure to lift one foot at a time onto the bench…not a pretty site, nor anything else…I’m still scarred. :laugh:

RYC: We are hoping that it is a nice island and that the hotel is nice. We tried and tried to get our own time share but, this one is hopefully nice. We are looking at it as an adventure. LOL How is SF feeling?

I have never heard of that holiday. I am sorry your daughter is sick. I am not modest, but I don’t like being naked around people I do not know. I feel uncomfortable when other people parade around naked.
